Whoso Pulleth This Special Edition From This StoneAuthor: Rafe Telsch

One of my all-time favorite Disney animated features is the underappreciated Sword in the Stone. Based on T.S. White’s The Once and Future King, the film brings together just about everything I love: the King Arthur mythos, Disney’s animation, etc. Just throw in some frickin’ laser beams and I wouldn’t need another movie ever.
Part of the reason I consider Sword in the Stone to be underappreciated is it’s part of Disney’s constant collection – those animated movies that don’t cone and go from the Disney vault but instead are ever present. As such, the adventures of young Arthur haven’t been subjected to any kind of special edition, with the same lackluster DVD version available for the past few years. Disney has slowly been fixing this with other everpresent movies (Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood) and a special edition of The Sword in the Stone has been announced for the movie’s 45th Anniversary, coming out June 17th. Like other Disney animated features, you can expect a deleted musical number, some games for the little ones, and even the inclusion of some classic Mickey and Goofy toons – “Knight for a Day” and “The Brave Little Tailor.” Check out the announced extras and the cover art below.
