Who knew Channing Tatum could act? She’s the Man only showed Tatum as a pretty face with no emotional range. We learned he has some serious dance skills in the Step It Up movies, but it wasn’t until Stop-Loss that he got the opportunity to show he can play something other than a brooding love interest. On August 25th you can see if Tatum can hold his own in a leading role alongside Terrence Howard when Universal Studios Home Entertainment releases Fighting on DVD and Blu-ray.

Tatum plays Shawn MacArthur, a guy who moves from his small hometown to New York City. Every day is a struggle to get by and Shawn resorts to selling counterfeit merchandise outside Radio City Music Hall. One day Shawn is attacked by a group of kids who he’s able to fight off, but who get away with his money. It isn’t until Shawn runs into the same kids again that he learns their brawl wasn’t by chance. It was arranged by Harvey Boarden (Howard), a ticket scalper who controls the corner Shawn's been working. Boarden returns the stolen money to Shawn and offers him the chance to fight for more. Shawn is sucked into the world of underground bare-knuckle street-fighting and decides to put everything on the line and fight for the life he’s always dreamed of having.

The DVD will cost you $29.98 and has both the theatrical and unrated versions of the film, but the only extras are some deleted scenes. You’d think bumping the price up to $39.98 would mean more special features, but no. The only additional elements you’ll get with the BD are a digital copy of the film, access to BD-Live, and D-Box Motion Control. Who even has a D-Box enabled entertainment system anyway?
