Friday Night Double Feature: Stoners Stay HomeAuthor: Rafe Telsch

The Pineapple Express looks pretty awesome, but let’s be honest. The last thing a decent stoner wants to do is leave the house and go out to the movies. It’s just too risky and takes too much damn effort. That’s why DVD is such a better option for the stoner lifestyle. Unfortunately, it’ll be a few months before Pineapple expresses its way to DVD, and you want to watch a movie tonight.
That’s why we’re offering a stoner substitute Double Feature for the weekend, aided by CB’s stoner movie expert, Mack Rawden, who was also a big part of our Top 5 Stoner Movies list we put out a few months ago. Watch this weekend’s double feature in good conscience that what you do in the privacy of your home can stay in the privacy of your home, and Pineapple Express will be available on DVD soon enough. ![]()
Knocked Up
I love Knocked Up for the heartfelt story about a guy finally realizing he has to become responsible and accept adulthood. Along that personal journey, however, is a hilarious amount of drug-induced humor, from misconceptions about conception through stupid stunts to foolish pranks on each other. Meanwhile, the whole time the group is attempting to support themselves with an idea that had long since been executed by someone else. The whole thing is just too hilarious and Jason Segel, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, and Martin Star do a fantastic job as the stoner crowd. With friends like these, who wouldn’t want to hang out and get stoned all the time? Of course, the movie also has that Pineapple connection with Seth Rogen starring and Judd Apatow behind the scenes, but you don’t really care about that, do you? ![]()
