Have you been doing your cardio? Wearing your seatbelt? What about minding yourself in bathrooms? Well, I hope so because on February 2nd, 2010 Sony Picture Home Entertainment will release Zombieland on DVD and Blu-ray.
In a world where just about every human has been transformed into a zombie, the only thing keeping Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) alive and mortal is his strict set of rules. Rules like the double-tap, "donít be a hero," and "know your way out" work for Columbus, but not for his new friend, Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), a carefree guy with a knack for zombie killing and a soft spot for Twinkies. It isnít until Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) and her older sister, Wichita (Emma Stone), come into the picture that Columbus finds himself overlooking his own rules and instituting a new one: enjoy the little things.
Zombieland is a downright blast. Like I said in my review back in October, I walked into Zombieland in a terrible mood. When I left, not only did I completely forget about the issue bothering me, but I was genuinely elated. Zombieland is one of the best times Iíve had in the theater all year, and I have very high hopes for a bonus-material-packed DVD and Blu-ray.
The early trade ad posted on DVD Active only names "deleted scenes, featurettes, and more," as well as the BD exclusive feature "Beyond the Graveyard" Picture-in-Picture Track and a digital copy of the film, but I expect much more will come with the official press release. Weíll be sure to keep you posted on any further details.
