The unmemorable British comedy, Wild Target, is coming to the United States on DVD and Blu-Ray. The film will be available for purchase on February 8th, 2011. Wild Target features the machinations of the unmistakable Bill Nighy, playing assassin Victor Maynard, and his would-be victim/love Rose, who is played by Emily Blunt. Characters by Rupert Grint and Rupert Everett also feature prominently into the plot. So, it’s sort of like Killers. With better lead actors and presumably at least a few one-liners. Oh, and a quirkier director.

The reason I know this is because the film comes from director Jonathon Lynn, who was also responsible for the Whole Nine Yards and Clue. Comedian Doug Benson may hate on the latter, but that doesn’t mean he's right. However, Wild Target only drew a little over a hundred thousand dollars in the U.S., so it’s no surprise that the DVD and Blu-Ray has saved some cash by shirking on special features. There will be a feature called “On Target with Emily Blunt.” Official guestimate: If you need to patch up your British accent, there are worse options out there, mate. If you’re looking for any shitty film to watch, I am sure you could do better. Or shittier. Cheers.
