The MTV Movie Awards may not be a real awards ceremony, but they often end up being the most fun to watch. So look, while it doesn’t really matter who wins I’m always interested in who gets nominated since that’s some indicator of who will show up to give wacky and weird MTV acceptance speeches. Hint: It’s a good thing of there’s a Jim Carrey movie in the nominee list.

MTV has just released the 2007 batch of MTV Movie Award nominees, and unfortunately this year there’s no Jim Carrey in sight. That’s alright, don’t panic, because they’ve replaced him with plenty of Borat. Borat received 3 nominations and that means three chances to have Sacha Baron Cohen up on stage saying the sorts of things that will be all the rage on You Tube the next morning. That means 3 shots at being entertained. Other heavily nominated films this year include 300 with five nominations and Pirates of the Caribbean 2 with four nominations. But if you’re looking for laughs out of the MTV Awards (and really that’s the only reason to watch), then the smart move is rooting for Borat wins.

Luckily the 2007 MTV Movie Award winners aren’t in the hands of a bunch of stuffy old men, it’s up to you. I’ve listed all the categories and their respective nominees. Go to MTV and vote for who you want to win by clicking on the category for each group of movies. The award is meaningless, so consider voting for which movie you think will result in the most interesting speech. Come on, don’t put me to sleep with another boring awards ceremony. Borat for the win.
