Cinema Blend
Actor of The Month
May 2004
</center>

Cinema Blend's Actor of the Month is bestowed to an actor or actress for their contribution to flicks these days. The actor/actress will be voted upon by the Cinema Blend staff, and will be featured in the Ring of the site logo at some point during the month. That being Said, the “coveted” Cinema Blend Actor of the Month Award for May is Brad Pitt.

Brad Pitt was born in Oklahoma and raised in Springfield, Missouri. His mother's name is Jane. His father, Bill, worked in management at a trucking firm in Springfield. In high school Pitt was involved in sports, debating, student government and school musicals. Pitt attended the University of Missouri where he majored in journalism with a focus on advertising. He occasionally acted in fraternity shows. He left college two credits short of graduating to move to California. Before he became successful at acting, Pitt supported himself by driving strippers in limos, moving refrigerators and dressing as a giant chicken while working for "el Pollo Loco".

Pitt made his acting debut in TV episodes of “Growing Pains”, “21 Jump Street”, and “Freddy’s Nightmares” but his break out role as the Hitchhiker in Thelma & Louise is what catapulted him into the career he has today. Following it up with A River Runs Through it, Legends of the Fall, True Romance, Kalifornia, Interview with a Vampire, and Twelve Monkeys (for which he won a Golden Globe and Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actor).

This month he can be seen in the Wolfgang Petersen epic Troy. His first film in 2 years (not counting Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas). He’s also currently working on his first sequel. Reteaming with George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bernie Mac, Julia Roberts and director Steven Soderbergh for Ocean’s Twelve.

Pretty boy, but still one of my favorite actors! I'm so stoked to see him as Achilles.

I hate it that he's such a good actor.

Yeah, it seems so unfair that a guy so good looking has the potential to win an Oscar one day, plus the fact that he's married to Jennifer Aniston

he came damn close masterthes, him & Spacey traded off wins pre-oscar up until oscar night. But it wasn't such a bad thing....I mean it was The Usual Suspects

What I really like about Brad Pitt is the risk he takes. He's much like Johnny Depp, it would have been so easy for him to just be a pretty boy, but he takes such potentially career destroying roles 12 Monkeys, can you see Orlando Bloom doing 12 Monkeys.

Clint Howard ROBBED AGAIN!!

But yeah, good looks and Jennifer Aniston aside, he's a very good actor. He's underrated in 12 Monkeys and wonderful in Se7en.

Brad was just awesome in 12 Monkeys. His best performance to date.

Another great thing about Brad is that he doesn't overpower a movie or scene just because he is hot or a big big star. He works very well with other actors, both character and name-brand variety.

He's a damn good actor, and he's considered a pretty boy, and all the women think he's a hunk. He's got it all. He just needs to make more films.

A rock starw/ 5 o'clock shadow that Ben Seaver looked up to until ben realized fame makes people into pricks.

And a clean shaven Mr. Nice Guy Carol Seaver damn near cheats on her boyfriend Bobby to be with.
