King of Queens star Leah Remini (news) gave birth Wednesday to a baby girl, publicist Samantha Hill announced today.

Sofia Bella made her grand entrance in an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital at 3:01 p.m., weighing in at 6 pounds, 4.7 ounces and measuring 18 inches. She is the first child for Remini and husband Angelo Pagan, the fast-working couple tied the knot last July and announced the pregnancy in December.

The birth came a day after Ma Remini marked her 34th birthday.

The Brooklyn-born actress is best known for playing Carrie, the spunky wife to Kevin James (news)' Doug Hefferman on the popular CBS sitcom Queens. The show just wrapped its sixth season and will begin shooting again in August, which should give Remini plenty of time on diaper duty.

Aside from her reign on Queens, Remini costarred as Vince Vaughn (news)'s frustrated wife in the frat-boy comedy Old School. A former child star who got her start with a stint in Saved by the Bell, Remini has also racked up TV credits on Cheers, NYPD Blue, Who's the Boss? and The Commish.

My wife I believe was slightly under 2 pounds. She was VERY premature. They have a picture of her dad holding her in the palm of one hand when she was born... actually that was awhile after she was born since for the first few months they couldn't touch her, she was in incubators and such.

She was 6 weeks premature. They had to perform an emergency C-Section to save her. Then they had to perform an emergency surgery later that day.

Yeah- it's amazing how many things can go wrong at birth.... I'm glad she's doing well Matt.... Did she ever go through a developmental clinic??

She spent about 4 weeks at a Children's hospital. She was fine after that. Very scary.

I'm glad she was fine... it's great when it all turns out well.

We have one baby that has been with is for nearly 6 months now. She went home at 4 months and had to come back 2 days later. It's sad. The mother is a single minor too, so she really doesn't understand how much work this baby is going to be for a LONG time.

My brother-in-law's first wife still holds the record at my local hospital--she gave birth to a boy, 13lbs 5oz. That kid is still huge!

No, it wasn't a natural birth.
