We basically eliminated the Mets this weekend. It's becoming ridiculous. Hell, I was looking forward to a rebuilding year. And before anyone says we only beat the Expos, We have the best record in baseball for a team against their own division.

Phillies are managed by a moron, and the Mets are 9 games back. Keep an eye on the Marlins though.

No doubt we'll lose in the playoffs, but I'd like to see somebody in the East "man up" and win for once.

There was a time when I was waiting for the Braves to go down, but now I'm so stuck in a rut taht I couldn't handle the change. I first became a baseball fan in '91. My whole life as a baseball fan, the Braves have won their division.

I think the Yanks could go all the way this year. I feel it.

We can pretty much factor out the Red Sox since Nomar's in Cubbie-town. That's going to hurt them more than they already are.

I grew up in Atlanta; I remember the good old days in the 80's where they lost with a whimper in 82 in the divisional playoffs then it was downhill from there. Ah, yes. Fulton County Stadium with 2,000 people in the seats, 1,832 of them would be rooting for the other team... ...I remember them being so happy they didn't lose 100 games in 1990 (they lost 99)...

. . . then the next year they. . . went to the World Series.
What an amazing WS. 2 last to first teams duking it out in the greatest series of all time. Top game 7, scoreless through 9 1/2 with an ancient pitcher throwing 10 shut out innings. I have that image of the Twin (I can't remember the name. . .) jumping with both feet on the plate burned into my memory forever.
By the way, wasn't FCS the place where a big light fixture fell and no one was worried because there were no fans anywhere nearby?

That Twinkie would have either been Puckett or Winfield, I believe.

And Matty, never count anyone out of the division, at least not yet (well, forget the Expos). In September, yeah, do so. But never forget the lessons of 1978- forget about your rivals, and you're bound to get Bucky Dent hitting a homer off of you. :)

It was a white guy, though, so it was't either of them.
