Based on the popular comic strip by Michael Fry and T Lewis, Over the Hedge tells the story of a mischievious con-racoon (Jim Carrey) and a sensitive turtle named Verne (Gary Shandling) as they learn to co-exist with the housing development encroaching on their natural habitat.

Directed by Tim Johnson who co-directed the critically acclaimed Dreamworks computer-animated hit Antz, the also computer-animated Over the Hedge is slated for release in 2005.

My only hope is that Carrey doesn't waste to much time on voicing animated characters. His true talent has always been his amazing range of facial and body distortions, not his silky smooth voice. Voicing an animated Raccoon is frankly a good way for Carrey to avoid doing anything useful with himself.
