1. "The Scorpion King," $36.2 million.
2. "Changing Lanes," $11.1 million.
3. "Murder by Numbers," $9.5 million.
4. "The Rookie," $6.3 million.
5. "Panic Room," $6.2 million.
6. "Ice Age," $5.7 million.
7. "The Sweetest Thing," $5.2 million.
8. "High Crimes," $3.8 million.
9. "Clockstoppers," $2.9 million.
10. "National Lampoon's Van Wilder," $2.3 million.


The Rookie is hanging in nicely. It has made over $42 million in 4 weeks.

Obviously, The Scorpion King did well. It broke the previous record for openings in April. It has one more week to make huge numbers before Spider-Man climbs to number one.

Rather surprisingly low budget UK flick Bend It Like Beckham held off big budget Rock vehicle, The Scorpion King to claim 2 weeks at the top of the charts.
CG animation Ice Age is still doing brisk business 4 weeks after it's release.

This week saw the releases of:

About A Boy - New Hugh Grant vehicle from the director of American Pie.

John Q - Denzel Washington's non-Oscar winning role.

Roadkill - More teen slasher shenanigans.
