In Style magazine reports that ultra-hot Italian actress Monica Bellucci will be joining the cast of the Matrix sequels.

Who or what will she play? Your guess is as good as mine.

RUMOR

EntertainmentWeekly.com is claiming they have in their hands the title for The Matrix 2....

The Matrix: Reloaded

Or perhaps its just another lovely hoax. Not a bad title if true though. Makes sense to.

That would be a good title for a Cheech and Chong sequel too.

I'll go away now.

If only they'd put Cheech and Chong in THe Matrix... then I could truly be complete.

RUMOR: SUPER SPOILER

A VERY suspect rumor from AICN regarding the ENTIRE plot of the Matrix 2. If you don't want to know, don't read any further.

At the start of the film, Neo is in the matrix meeting with the oracle, she tells him there is trouble coming, and that People are going to have to be very resilient in the days ahead. He doesn't understand exactly what she means, until all hell breaks loose and the agents begin attacking, but instead of using typical agents they are using Virii, here we see some of the zero G kung fu in a big scene where all hell is breaking loose. The Virii are different from the agents, they affect the matrix substantially, creating things as they wish just as Neo does, and worse infecting it so that slowly it begins to fall apart. (NOTE: the fire hydrant in the phone booth) Since the agents created the Virii their job is to infect Neo so that he can't fight or move inside the matrix. In other words the virii are bad for the Matrix, but the agents believe it is the only way to flush out neo and the rebels. Neo does in fact become infected by the virus and gets ! bo! oted out of the matrix, unable to reenter until the virus is stopped. However it is the exact opposite for the others (TRINITY, and MORPHEUS) who can‚t get out since the hard-line has been infected as well.

Now Neo has to find a way to hack into the matrix in the real world as a normal man so he can get back into the matrix and save Morpheus and Trinity before they end up dead. He gains the aid of Morpheus's girl friend - Jada Pinket Smith and others from Zion to Hack the Robots main CPU and get rid of the Virii all while fending off the robot hordes. As this is happening Trinity and Morpheus need to survive the constant attacks from the virii and agents by way of car chase, fight scenes and what have you, making the movie more of a race against time. In the end the virii, becomes uncontrollable and decides to destroy the matrix, this causes the Agents to have to go against them as well. So that their entire crops won't be lost as well as their entire mainframe. In the later portion of the film Neo learns some things about the robots history as well as what the matrix "REALLY" is. Finally allowing himself to hack back into the matrix and kick some ass, Zero G style all while fighting multiple virus's trying to destroy the matrix and life as we know it.

One more thing about the virii, like any real virus, they multiply, and multiply they do until there are hundreds of them taking over the construct. In one scene, Trinity, cuts off one of their arms, the arm grows back and the piece that is left on the floor becomes a virus as well, all and all very cool stuff that will have people completely spell bound.

Sounds like a good plot to me. The question begs itself though, "If the agents could create these 'Super Agents' all along, why didn't they do it in the first place??"

ANSWER: They damage the Matrix.

For now, the third film is titled "The Matrix Revolutions".
Sounds pretty lame to me.

Really? Last I'd heard it was still Matrix: Reloaded which is an infinetly cooler title. That is rather dissapointing.

I will be extremely upset if they are talking about a third movie befrore the second one is even off the cutting room floor. I'll say this if they are, make sure yu tret Reloaded as part two of a trilogy and write it as such, same with the third. Then make sure you kill the franchise at the end of III. Scream, bad writing notwithstanding, at least left after three films, and they wrapped it all up rather nicley.

Lord,

As soon as the first one was a success they said they'd do it as a trilogy to finish the story. They are filming 2 and 3 back to back and 2 is supposed to have a cliffhanger ending to lead into 3. :)

What Taln said. 3 isn't really another film so much as the second part of 2. Doing the Back To The Future thing, only they aren't waiting 5 years to make the sequels.

I like it.

TIME magazine has exclusive pictures of the upcoming Matrix sequels:

View them here (http://www.time.com/time/sampler/article/0,8599,235417,00.html#)

Keanu Reeves has said, intriguingly, of the trilogy: "The first movie deals with birth, the second with life and the third with death"

The Matrix Reloaded: May 2003
The Matrix Revolutions: November 2003

Latest info on "The Animatrix"

The anime series will apparently consist of 10 "episodes". It hasn't been decided yet how the episodes will be released, but the producers are leaning towards an Internet release followed by another DVD - all before the sequel to The Matrix hits theaters in 2003.

The official title for the series is "Animatrix." The information provided in The Matrix Revisited DVD special sheds only basic information about the series. Michael Arias is one of the producers specifically for the Animatrix series. Arias says they wanted to put the vision of The Matrix "together with the gods of Japanese animation and see what will come out of that."

Several Japanese studios, including Mad House, are involved with specific episodes, some which will be original stories.

One of the episode directors for The Animatrix is Yoshiaki Kawajiri. "The Matrix is a flat-out incredible experience both visually and on a narrative level," says Kawajiri. " It really manages to fuse a lot of disparate elements of cinema. You see why people love it so fanatically. It really convinced me that a new breed of filmmaking had arrived."

Another episode is based within the simulation (training program) that ends up becoming a part of the real world. It is described as an "Akira style ninja epic".

An episode titled "World Record" follows a man within the Matrix that is able to break out of it through "sheer physical power." That episode is being directed by Takeshi Koike. He says that many more questions about the Matrix will be answered and that "the more you understand it, the more interesting it becomes."

Another episode serves as a prequel to The Matrix that "details the war between man and machines," according to Producer Joel Silver. That episode is directed by Mahiro Maeda.

Producer Joel Silver hints at Square Pictures involvement in a project that "deals with information that directly relates to the movie." This is the secret project Square had started working on earlier this year that was mentioned in two Digital Media FX reports last Spring.
