Paramount has acquired "John Carter of Mars", an 11-volume science fiction series written by the original author of Tarzan, Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Paramount's producers Jim Jacks and Sean Daniels' plan on turning the first book into a movie and hope to develop a series of movies similar to "LoTR" and "Star Wars."
I find this highly interesting. With CGI at a high level, this can be a box office smash!
One rumor is that The Rock might be considerd for this if he does well in the Scorpion King. Jacks and Daniels are also responsible for The Mummy and The Mummy Returns.
