Relentlessly upbeat "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul may not be able to keep that smile for long. Los Angeles prosecutors are reportedly weighing filing misdemeanor criminal charges against the singer after she allegedly rush, rushed away from an accident last December on a California freeway.
According to the AP, possible charges could stem from a Dec. 20 incident on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley. Frank Mateljan, city attorney's office spokesman, says that after an apparently improper lane change, Abdul's Mercedes clipped another car.
Abdul, or the driver of Abdul's car, allegedly failed to stop and exchange information with the damaged car. The occupants of the second car whipped out a cell phone and rather than text messaging a vote for their favorite "Idol" contestant, they took a picture of the fleeing Mercedes' license plate, which was then traced back to Abdul.
