I read when it takes me. Sometimes I read for weeks and weeks on end. Sometimes I don't pick up a book for months. I guess my main reason for reading is entertainment, though I do read for the purpose of knowledge too.
Btw, I like that you can choose more than one option in your poll. :D
I read everywhere.
I'd read more except i don't have time.
Mostly, I read on my lunch breaks in my car and then every night before bed.
Why do I read... hmm. Well for entertainment for one thing. Reading is more entertaining to me that watching TV really. Though it is pretty much the same result, you just use your imagination when reading instead of having everything laid right out for you.
I read to educate, learn, broaden my mind too.
Reading is the most important thing you can ever do. Even if you're reading just comic books or something, you'll learn more from reading than any other thing on the planet. That's my belief. But then I'm addicted to the stuff. i can't quit. help! I'm even reading right now! It is SICK!

I read constantly. My favorite spot is in the bubble bath with a cup of tea. :)

Read for an hour or two before snoozing. Always seem to read a lot more when I'm single. Wonder why? Oh yeah, more time.

i read whenever i have the time and often even when i don't (i procrastinate A LOT, and reading good books is one of my favorite ways of doing this).
i read wherever.
usually i read until my eyes are tired if it's a good book, otherwise i'll just read a chapter or however much i have time to read.
as for why. well mostly to be informed i guess. sometimes to get away from the world for awhile or just to be entertained. i enjoy books more than tv and i think books are actually probably better for you than tv in the long run. not sure if i can prove that though. tv just seems to have so much *junk*. i think movies are more comparable to books. but still i'd say books win out just for convenience sake. it's much easier to put down a book and get back to it later, than to do the same with a movie. for me anyway.
whatever the reason for reading is, i agree with hobbit that reading is one of the most important skills a person can have.
I'd say I read about 2 hours a day. This includes magazines and comics of course. 1 hour solely for books.
