Anyone know of one. I'd like to give an RPG a try (last one was Suikoden, many, many moons ago), but I hate turn based fighting.

The only Good non Turn based RPGs I know of are the Tales Of Destiny series.

Theres one called Tales of Symphonia that was on the Gamecube but I believe they've released a PS2 port.

The story is nearly unbearably standard (not bad but simply like ever other ****ing RPG) but if you haven't played alot of RPGs that shouldn't be a problem, and it even manages to fit in a few cool twists and endearing characters (Sheena rocks) into the cliches.

And the combat is red hot sear your hands to the controller holy shit I can't believe I just did a fifty + combo fun.

I'd give it a solid B

Its the same game Tales of Symphonia.

Its a spin off of an early PS1 series Tales of Destiny. Don't know why they changed the name.

Another one I'd mention is Wild Arms 3.

It is turn based, but the way it plays, it oddly doesn't Feel turned based. The graphics make is so the characters participate in the battle not just standing there docily waiting for your commands.

Add that in with killer cel shaded anime style graphics, Voice acting thats actually worth two shits, a great story, and a kick ass Dark Tower/Clint Eastwood style Western Setting and you've got yourself a game.

I forgot which Wild Arms it was, but I played one of the PS1 versions of it. About drove me nuts, I had to fight little annoying monsters every 15 seconds.:lol

Thanks for the recs though, I'll have to take a look at Tales.

"Mankind has evolved"

Give Wild Arms a look too, try a rental. I was no great fan of the prequels either, but the Third Installment is actually pretty ****ing cool.
