Have you ever read something about an author that made you question being a fan?

with all the hubbub about Roman Polanski i thought for sure someone would have something to say about someone here.

eh. anyway. mine's silly. i found out that the author of some books i like is an avid fan of buffy the vampire slayer, and it rather put me off of that author for awhile. i'm strongly anti-buffy, and couldn't believe an author who wrote so nicely could have such bad taste :yuck. i was just shocked, and it completely changed my perspective of her writing.

The only thing I can contribute is that I was slightly miffed that Anne Rice endorsed that crappy adaptation of her Queen of the Damned, but aside from that, that's it.
