View Full Version : Where did my User Title option go?

Is it the lack of sleep, or can I not find a place to change my custom User Title anymore?

I swear it was listed under "Edit Profile", but now it's gone. Did I miss a big reining-in of custom titles?

After reading your post I checked my own Stubbs, you're not hallucinating, it's not there in mine either. They must have taken that away right now, maybe one of our mods will let us in on the details soon.

They decided to go back to the old ways when they got to put in your user title based on something funny you said, or something that could be taken out of context. I did not edit my user title, although I do like Scottish accents! ;)

Ah... But this also means that the original group-O-friends will have theirs changed regularly while us unpopular loser-y folks who have yet to make their bones will be stuck with whatever title happens to currently be in their profile forever.

To be honest, this smells a bit like high school. The clique of cool kids and the rest of us.

Not really, just say something either really witty or really dumb that we can use to mock you and hey presto! :lol

That's the best insults you've got? Women's underwear and calling me a baby? Please.

My little girls can cut me down far more hardcore than that.

Now I'll be afraid to post anything at all for fear it'll be stuck in my usertitle for about forever! Doh, it might've happened already! Talk about a quandry we're all in right now. Arrrgh..

No, seriously I'm pretty happy with mine right now, but I know Stubbs has the need to change his daily, just like his shorts. ;) He may be having a meldown now. ;)

Since he can't change his user title anymore, does that mean he won't change his shorts?

Ewwww. :yuck

As soon as I finish my move in a couple of weeks maybe I can get creative. The best I have now is:

Darth Tater: Lord Tater, FRIES! (Lord Vader, Rise).

Stubblecat: Prickly Pussy (:lol) or Stubble, Stubble, Stubblecats, HO!!!

Sorry, my brain is fried.

Just for that.. I'm calling you Spuds Mackenzie.

Or I'll just pretend you said "Yeah, I'll hump a llama. Don't judge me" :lol

I only bring this up because I've been a member of a couple of other forums where the bulk of the members are a tight little clique. Usually every thread wanders into self-referential territory, and if you're not part of that 10,000+ post club you're pretty much just lurking around a private forum.

The prospect of Mods changing user titles is fine. The chance that it'll turn into a members-only popularity contest is a bit of a drag.

Well how about you give us a break and not accuse us of things until we do it, okay? Frankly it's insulting. I don't care how long someone has been here. And no moderators can change names. The only people who can are Josh, Into, Tay, and me. I personally haven't changed a name yet because I'm busy with family, moving, etc not to mention the normal run of the mill site stuff.

Also, the term clique is so overused. I have known Josh and Tay for 7 years so of course we're friends. You and digitial bits gang act like a clique by your definition and we completely didn't mind talking with your friends that were a part of your gang.

Whoa there big guy! I'm not making any accusations. I'm just pointing out a pretty common occurance in forums. It happens ALL the time and I just wanted to get the topic out in the open.

As for us Bits refugees, I think we're actively trying to blend into the Blend. Obviously we're trying to integrate ourselves all at the same time so we have that point of reference, but I don't think that's been used in any negative way.

But any ill feelings aside: I'm totally in the same boat as you. I'm currently gutting and renovating my house just so I can sell it, while having a house built at the same time. Toss a couple of kids and a demanding job which is affected by every single f**king snowstorm that we seem to get every other day, and my dedication to adding my input to a forum gets less and less every day.

To wit: No offense intended.

There has never been a clique on this forum and there never will be.

I won't stand for it.

As any of our long time members will tell you, I don't like belonging to groups. :lol

I don't think people ever give us credit for treating everybody the same. I set my bar low :lol kidding. But yes, I'll admit to having friends on the board and that's natural. But I don't see clique behavior here.

Awesome possum. Let's consider this case closed.

(Stubbs looks to his left...)

Ah... very good! Bravo.

My last take on this discussion, is that there doesn't seem to be too much of an issue. I can see both sides, but I think it's just a normal progression of joing a new group, whatever and wherever it may be. Yes, we former 'Bits members do have a lot of "in-jokes" and the such that we know, and so does the Cinemablend gang, and that's o.k. and normal. Now we're all just trying to develop a "rapport" (hope the spellings right) with each other, and that just takes time. I feel we have a great new home here, so let's just keep it going. :)

My first one said, "Read shirts", which I didn't get, because I don't even wear red. I prefer morbid colors, like black . . . and more black.
Now it says, "Hermione Granger", which I had to look up. I've never watched those, and I'm not aimin' to. ;)
She sounded decent enough, until this . . .

Hermione feels "utterly inadequate…and to compensate, she tries to be the best at everything.

Hermione resembles her at a younger age, with her insecurity and fear of failure.

So now I ask you, how in the world did I come across like this?!? . . . and if it was something I said, I take it back! Seriously, delete the post!

p.s. I'm just teasing. It doesn't bother me, what it says. I'm just wasting some time here. That, and you're making me post 15 times, before I can post a frippin' imagine. :)

Dawn, those are actually the user titles we have set for everyone as their post count increases.:)

Ahhh,

I was wondering why we had so many Hermione's all of the sudden!

Oh and you'll need to post a lot more to be able to post links.

In response to the idea that those who have been here longer will get more frequent and fun updates to their user title, I would just like to let you know that Josh bestowed Ol' Two Thrusts on me a long, long time ago and it hasn't been changed. :lol

Yeah, I assumed the new members were regularly set, and the ones for moderators, etc . . . were hand-picked, so to speak. I was just being sarcastic. Although I really don't wear red, and I'm not insecure.

I'm not! I swear!

*Runs off to cry*

. . . and once we reach 140 posts, we can start making our own?

Scratch that. Yeah, they just don't add up.
