Alice in chains coulda been one of the absolute greatest bands ever, but they screwed it up.

Mr. Hendrix was the greatest electric guitar player evar.

like I said....Hendrix is cool....his band sucked. He's better than the band. So my vote's gotta go to "Alice in Chains" because The Jimi Hendrix Experience is basically one guy, the rest of the band sucked, or we'd remember them just as much as Jimi.

That's just silly. There's always someone who stands out in a band, I mean, I have no idea what the other members of Queen were named next to Freddy Mercury, nor do I know any names of The Doors besides Jim Morisson. This goes for a hundred bands but doesn't mean they all sucked.

but the band was called "The Jimi Hendrix Experience", of course Jimi would stand out. The Doors & Queen were not named after their front men. Totally different. Everybody forgets other members of bands, it's common. Usually, the common band has at least 2 memorable members (if not, all).

So the name of the band defines wether the lesser known bandmembers suck or not? You have strange views, a name is just a marking decision.

Mitch Mitchell & Noel (sp?) Redding
Of course Jimi was heads above his band. He was JIMI HENDRIX!

Mitch Mitchell. Obvious a secret superhero identity.

Jimi was a one man band, the other guys were just there to help bring him back to earth and give a little structure for him to work with. Jimi didn't need songs, he could just get up on stage and jam. Songs were so they could make his music into albums and get radio air-play.

You have to see some of his concert footage to see how incredible he was.
Star Spangled Banner - Woodstock
Machine Gun - Jimi at Berkeley
The Monterey Pop Festival
Rainbow Bridge

I believe it was at the Isle of Wight festival that The Who threw a fit because they refused to play right after Hendrix, hehe, tough act to follow.

The man single-handedly revolutionized rock guitar.
