I like Radiohead's early pre-pretense stuff.

Led Zepplin. After hearing Jimmy Page on the first Joe Cocker album (particularly Bye Bye Blackbird) I bought their first album in the late 1960's. Zepplin were flashy and loud and subsequent albums had tracks and tracks of rubbish on them (the album with Stairway to Heaven is a case in point) - but Jimmy Page brought axe playing a new respectability after Clapton went all mushy on things like The Beatles "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". "Dazed and Confused" was outstanding - when Robert Plant screams "The soul of a woman was created below" we boys all knew what he meant.
I came late to Radiohead but they are nothing special. I love particular tracks - Plastic Trees is my favourite "listen while feeling blue" number. But Zepplin were tremendous - and John Bonham went the way all good rock drummers should go - according to the gospel of This is Spinal Tap.
