Wow, this looks very promising. Bring it on baby. Big ups to HNN by the way for bringing us such a deluge of movie news goodness.
At the same time when Lucas is refusing to allow the original Star Wars Episode IV print to be shown even for historical purposes now. Special Edition only.
Damn him. :(
This rumor sounds cool, but now all I can think about is how he is a sad sad little man.
Never forget what drives Lucas. Money Cash Greenbacks baby!
He'll release the special edition and make a fortune. Then a couple of years later, He'll release the "Vintage Edition" for us. Or his kids will after he keels over.
But to be honest, I would have no problems with the special edition except for one damn thing. GREEDO DID NOT SHOOT FIRST. GARHHHH. That only makes me have to have the vintage edition.

Nah, Lucas has disowned the originals totally. He's too far gone. If he was Arabian he'd probably have sold them to nomads for camels.
Still remember finding this pic and captioning it way back in ezboard days...

Lucas: "Bwahahaha. They'll never find the original version prints now..."
Cool spoilers though. Good to see some positive news and not just more fan-baiting by dragging old characters back..
What I'm blathering about is this story at ComingSoon, CHUD, and AICN that Lucas refused to allow anything but the Special Edition prints... EVEN for a historical ceremony on the history of film in the 70's. They honored it by selecting it as one of the most important films of that decade... but he refused to let anyone SEE the 70's version of Star Wars and demanded that they show the special edition.
That's ****ing rediculous since this is a historical thing and it is about the 70's, and the SE is NOT a 70's movie, it is a crappy product of the 90's. But he's such a small, sad little man he even wants to erase them from history.
I don't think you'll ever ever see the original editions now. EVER. Not until that man is dead and in the box. Then his estate will release it to milk more money out of us. He just HATES those original movies... the movies that changed the face of film, that inspired generations of filmmakers, captured the imaginations of more people than any other movie in history... he HATES those movie and insists that we all like some later 90's version which should at best be regarded as a curiosity and an exploration in egomania.
