Okay, so maybe that's an overambitious title, but I thought I'd give some exact numbers when it came to the summer box-office and why I labeled certain movies the way I did. Read the summer 2003 box-office rundown, if you missed it. (http://filmhobbit.com/moviereviews/madness/summer2003.html)

Studios usually measure success by comparing cost versus box office take.

Predictions are just predictions, and really have no bearing on gauging whether or not the movie was a success.

That's my opinion anyway.

And I still think that Summer 2003 thing we did is the most fun I've had doing a piece in some time. Looking forward to doing it again with you next year Brody :)

FvJ made about double each of it's 17 predecessors

It made more than twice as much as the original Friday The 13th(unadjusted, which is $39.7 million), and around $30 million more than the highest-grossing Nightmare film ($49.3 million for part 4). FVJ was a big success, there's no doubt about that. It both pleases and worries me.

Because now Hollywood is going to make a similar VS movie for every horror icon in existence ofcourse. :)

only the ones that have been talked about for years. Aliens Vs. Predator. The rest will be dead in the water.

Something like that. I have always seen FVJ as a defininte stand-alone film, simply because the "what-is" has already been answered. What if Freddy and Jason fought each-other? The film has the answer. Any sequel, involving Ash, or Michael Myers or otherwise, would simply be an aggresive reiteration.

Other "cash-in" versus movies not involving Freddy or Jason wouldn't bother me. In fact, the classic three in my mind remain quite enticing: Alien vs. Predator: cool. Robocop vs. Terminator: also cool. But the best has already happened, so I'm happy.

Shameless "Freddy Vs. Jason" review plug right here. (http://filmhobbit.com/cgi-bin/movies/movies.cgi?action=showreview&review=freddyvjason)

Silly Bordick, we all know how Hollywood works, if they find it works they won't stop until they've made The Killer Tomatoes VS The Sharks from Deep Blue Sea.

The ones that have been talked about for ages will come to pass because they've been in development forever. Having Pinhead attack Haddonfeild for the sheer notion of making a buck will not come to fruition.
