Not enough clout for HNN, methinks, but here's the latest from Ashton Kutcher. In a (semi) dramatic role no less....ooo I can't wait :blat

This thing has been getting PANNED by test screening.

This seems far too ambitious for someone like him.

I mean, it is a terribly hard concept to nail down; to conceptualize, and make people buy into and suspend their disbelief -- and to use the 70s Show/Punked dude for this, that's just a bad idea. Someone's ego got outta hand on this one.

More like their checkbook. It's a move to try and get asses in seats. Especially those mindless drones in the proper demographic.

I hate their choice of music for it. I'll tell you that. Doesn't fit at all.

Secondly... I hate time travel. I do. It is overused, overdone, and almost NEVER done right. Never. STOP MAKING STORIES ABOUT TIME TRAVEL.

It isn't really that interesting.

This... looks potentially stupid and bad. It covers all the time travel themes that have been covered 100 times before. There was nothing original about it.

Good, ORIGINAL time travel movies are totally rare. The only GREAT one I can think of in the past few years is Donnie Darko.

Don't forget we've got Paul "Bro" Walker's Timeline coming soon too!

Well, I want to see it. I love time travel movies, despite their continued mistakes and paradox. I'd like to see Kutcher start heading in a dramatic direction. If Jim Carrey can do it, why can't he?

Because Ashton Kutcher lacks talent.

Because Ashton Kutcher lacks talent. And you're basing this on what? The limited body of work he's done so far?

Carrey did In Living Color and Ace Ventura... based on that would you have given him a chance at more serious roles?

I say we should give him a chance. Like Carrey, he could suprise us.

And as a woman let me just say he looks damn fine. I'd wait for DVD but I'd watch it just to drool over the boy for 90 minutes.

Trailer looks "blah" and "yawn"

You see there is a difference. Unlike Jim Carrey or Robin Williams for that matter. Ashton Kutcher isn't really a proven Comedic actor. It's not like he's done what They've done before they turned into the dramatic area. Comparing Ashton Kutcher to Jim Carrey is like comparing The Brooklyn Bridge to Jeff Bridges. 2 totally different entities that shouldn't be compared in the least.

Meh.

Oh, I'm sorry.

I meant to say, "Meh."

Taln is right. It isn't fair to judge his acting ability on anything we've seen so far. The boy could have talent. I for one thought he was damn funny in Just Married and in Dude Where's My Car. You're knee-jerking just because he is overexposed, not because he lacks talent.

Still, Butterfly looks potentially lame.

I ain't knee jerking 'Cause he's over exposed, it's just because the the comedy he does is funny for the sake of being funny rather than being natural and having that be funny.

I can't dispute your arguement... because it makes me dizzy.

You prefer funny to happen by accident then? :lol

no, just to have it come natural rather than forced down my throat.

That's really a scripting problem then... you can't blame Ashton for that.

Sorry you don't appreciate the mad stupidity of Dude Where's My Car? It is a huge Flaming Hobbit. I dig it.

Bordick

It's not a scripting problem at all. It's in the actor's portrayal. If one hams it up for the camera with a "hey ain't I funny" look about him, it ruins the comedy that lies beneath.

I see Ashton has adopted his "take me seriously" facial hair :lol

I don't really know...tme movie itself looks good in my opinion, and Ashton SEEMS like he fits the role (to me), but then again...he could be there for some of the reasons stated above...we'll see...I do hope it's good though. :)

This looks really good. I'll definitely be giving this a go.

I think it looks better than any other Kutcher project so far.

Not that that's saying much.
