Look Neil, I'm a huge fan, but you have to let this one go. You've already had two revisions and to be honest its not your best work, not even by a long shot.
Do something else, MOVE ON!!!
Are you nuts man? Screw Gaiman, could care less about him... this is a good opportunity for Henson productions to get back on its feet and be relevant again. That's what matters!!!
But the way it sounds... money is scarce. And that ain't good.
Screw the Hensons, Hobbit. Gaiman's a god.

Neil Gaimian and Jim Hensons Productions is like a match made in heaven. Or The Dreaming, if you prefer ;)

That's sorta what I think. I don't get why EDJ is shouting for Gaiman to give up. This is the best thing that could have happened both to him AND to Henson.
I'm not really interested in seeing Neverwhere as a muppet-weird Dark Crystal style. I'd rather see a full out live action or cartoon.
1. Muppets are live action and ART too while you're at it.
2. You'd rather have a cheap ass CARTOON?????????????

A. Because this is the fourth adaption of this particular work I don't need anymore.
B. Its one of his weakest works (that's not saying much)
It sounds good to me. There can never be enough Dark Crystalesque movies.

I personally loved Neverwhere as a novel. The miniseries was a mistake, but the novel cleaned up the mistake. Trying to do this as a movie without the BBC is the best thing that could happen to it. Trying to do it with Henson & co is even better.

I don't find muppets really appealing, or cartoons, but yeah I'd rather have a cool cartoon movie than muppets.
Once upon a time all special effects were muppets. There was a time when Aliens for example were always Muppets/Puppets.
For instance... you don't like the Aliens in the Alien movies?? You'd prefer they were cartoons?

Don't get me wrong its a great book but for me it simply doesn't stack up to his other work.
But for me Gaiman is like Scorsese even his "failures" are much more fascinating then most peoples successes.

If they look like that, then yeah, I'd prefer the muppet effects. But I don't see that happening.
Well, it would be something like that sort of puppetry. What I mean is you aren't going to see Kermit-type muppets in this movie. It'll be more along the lines of The Dark Crystal, only more advanced I'd expect... and without a Kermit-like lead character.
Maybe I spoke too soon, but I don't know. I think I'd prefer live action.
It is live action... just the creature work would be done with Muppets. It's either Muppets or CGI for that stuff.... personally I prefer Muppets a la Alien.

Yeah, when you boil it all down, Yoda was a friggin' Muppet too!
Henson's famous for their top-drawer animatronic work as much as their muppets, I think we're all taking the whole kermit-imargery a little too to heart.
I'm pretty certain Yoda wasn't a Henson muppet.

Voiced by Frank Oz... and while it technically wasn't a Henson muppet, they actually helped with some of the work creating him.... and Frank Oz was about 30% of Henson Productions anyway :)

Then your only 30% right, and I 70%. :lol
