The School of Rock performed on Leno!!!

Did any of you see this last night??? It WAS GREAT!!!

Last night The School of Rock performed live on Leno.

What is The School of Rock? The School of Rock is the band from Jack Black's movie, <I>School of Rock</I>... and if you didn't know that get your ass to a theater and see it, it is brilliant.

But they ACTUALLY performed. Jack and all the kids from the band were on stage playing and singing and KICKING ASS!! Those kids were simply awesome live. Sounded and looked every bit as good on stage as they did in the movie.... in particular the kid playing lead guitar ROCKED. He's some sort of insane prodigy or something.

Killer TV moment. Never seen anything like it. Just Jack and then a bunch of well... little kids but little kids that play as good or better than a lot of adults.

Very cool. I hope I'm not the only one who caught it.

I never watch those late shows..but man I wish I had seen that.

I don't ever watch Leno either. But I flipped to NBC, and hit the info button on my remote just to see who was on, and it said at the very end of the description "Jack Black performs".

So I thought we were in for Tenacious D or something. So I kept an eye on the clock and turned the channel about the time musical acts usually come on and was surprised to see NOT Tenacious D but School of Rock kicking ass!

Afterwards Jay interviewed Jack a bit, and Jay kept trying to pigeonhole the movie as a family film over and over. It was really getting annoying. Honestly, that isn't a connotation you want for your movie, because it will keep adults without kids from going to see it generally, and School of Rock IS appropriate for kids, but it is also a movie that is kick ass for adults. So Jack finally says:

"Well, for every ounce of aw cute we put in, I made sure we put in 3 pounds of HILARIOUS."

Damn, I missed that!

I did see them on the Sharon Osbourne show a few weeks ago while visiting my parents. It was on the tv in the basement, which has terrible reception.

Jack Black = rock god.
