View Full Version : Favorite Princess Bride scenes
I'm all high on the Princess Bride after rewatching it this weekend. Humor me.
Favorite PB Scenes designated by quotes from said scene:
1. "My name is Indigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!"
2. "I am not left handed either"
3. "Never go in with a Sicillian when DEATH is on the line!"
4. "Now if only we had a wheelbarrow, THAT would be something."
5. "You mean you put down your rock and I put down my sword and we kill each other like god intended?"
6. "I could give you my word as a Spaniard.""No good, I've known to many Spaniards."
7. "Wuv, Twue wuv."
8. "To the pain means first I cut off your feet at the ankles..."
9."Humperdink! Humperdink Humperdink Humperdink!!"
10. "You truly love each other and might have been truly happy. Not one couple in a million has that chance and so I think no man shall suffer as much as you."
The entire movie is just too good.
I love the scenes with Andre the Giant especially

I have to say my favorite scene in the whole film is after Indigo defeats the Six fingered man and he starts to beg for his life, and Indigo starts to play along and eventually the Six Fingered man promises him anything, and Indigo stabs him through the heart and he goes...
"Give Me my father back you son of a bitch!"
When you're 8 that's the greatest piece of cinema you've ever witnessed.:D
It's still one of the greatest. 8, 30 or whatever. That entire scene where Indigo faces the 6 fingered man is just amazing.
yes I agree, that scene is the best work of the movie. Then again, Mandy Patankin (sp?) is an awesome actor.

Best line though is...
"Inconcivable"
"This word I do not think it means what you think it means."
Mandy Potemkin I think is the spelling.
I wish he worked more.
He got stuck on Broadway for a long time.
he Chose to work on Broadway and to spend time with his family. He was on that TV show Chicago Hope for awhile but he missed his family.
I just checked the spelling btw and it is Mandy Patinkin
Ah good to know. His name is one worth remembering. :)

"I'm not a witch, I'm your wife!"
"Have fun storming the castle!"
The scene with Billy and what's her name will always be one of my favorites of all time.

NOt so much a wuote from it, but I love when Andre leaves Wesley alone, stomps down the hall, bangs the door open for Inigo, then leaves like it never happened.

You forgot that perennial line "Never get involved in a land war with Asia". When I used to play Risk, we used to use that line all the time. Those who have played will get the drift.

Sadly I have a wife and two small daughters.
No one to play Risk with. :(
But if ya want a mean game of Chutes and Ladders... come to my house.
sigh....
Couple more years though and Allie will be up to RISK age. It is 8-adult. :p
I hardly ever get to play anymore either. Back home there were 5 or 6 of us who'd get together and play all the time... now it is hard to get a time to play when the wife isn't around, because she hates it and is bored by it, so if our friends come over and the guys want to play RISK, the women insist on playing too... and then it is just complaining and misery, and they refuse to take it seriously or pay attenion so we've sorta given up. hehe.
Chicks are horrible to play board games with. At least the ones you are married or are dating.
They get mad when you beat the hell out of em. I've had arguments with girlfriends about demanding my rent in Monopoly
Yeah and I am no good at going easy on them either, just because they are new or don't understand how to play. That doesn't help. hehe.
lol i go for the jugular in Monopoly. I'll have hotels everywhere... :lol
He's currently starring in the showtime series "Dead Like Me"

POINT OF ORDER:
Patinkin, Mandy Patinkin.
Potemkin is the name of the 1926 silent Russian Revolution flick that's renouned for it's superb editing (for it's time).
and we had already moved passed Hobbit's poor spelling habits. :lol

And an interesting Broadway fact about Mandy, is that his greatest claim to fame was playing Che in the original Broadway production of Evita.
