Four weeks from starting production on its Ben Affleck wedding comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Disney has pulled the plug on the project. Betty Thomas (I Spy) was to direct the film.

The film was to star Affleck as a bachelor who goes to his younger brother's wedding, where he is visited by the ghosts of his past girlfriends.

The Hollywood Reporter says that in addition to the film's expected high cost, another contributing factor was Affleck's tarnished image. The star has taken a beating in the tabloids and at the box office with the failure of his most recent film, Gigli.

I kinda feel bad about this.

Basically, Ben Affleck's career is now being hurt by tabloid coverage. That is the real reason they dropped him. That isn't fair and that isn't his fault.

Whenever I think about bad things regarding Ben, I just remember his impersonation of Harvey Weinstein on the Good Will Hunting commentary, and I know the guy can be swell.

That really sucks for Ben, but then again he and Jen need to get their relationship straightened out. Either get married, don't, or break up. Don't try to keep your lives private, because it won't work. You are celebrities, you are in the public eye constantly, so deal with it.
