If you use Trillian, mIRC, or some program other than the web based Java applett to access the FilmHobbit Chatroom, you will need to update your settings, as the chatroom has moved.
The new server the chatroom is located on is 'irc.rtds.org'. The room name is still #filmhobbit.
REGISTERING YOUR NICKNAME
Once you are logged into the IRC server (irc.rtds.org), set your nickname as you desire using the following command:
/nick {enter nickname here}
Registering your nickname is easy:
/NickServ register {password} {email address}
Note: you MUST use a valid email address, a confirmation email will be sent to that address to complete your registration, plus that email will be used for password recovery should you ever forget your password. The confirmation email will contain a confirmation code, which should then be entered into IRC as follows:
/NickServ confirm {confirmation code}
There. Done. Now you have to authenticate every time you join the server by using the following command:
/NickServ identify {password}
Keep in mind, you MUST be using the same name you registered when you do this. Now, I realize that it would be a pain in the ass to type that 'identify' bit in every time you connect, but fear not, there is an easier way. I'm currently learning where to do all that nifty stuff in Trillian, so catch me in chat, and I'll try and give you a hand. And, if by some streak of good luck, you are using mIRC (www.mirc.com), then I can REALLY help you out.
OK, I think that about covers everything. Once again, any questions or problems, just let me know.
