The Rock is a guilty pleasure cause of Connery, but the action itself is edited so YOU CAN'T ****ING SEE ANY OF IT!!! Micheal Bay Trademark.
Face/Off is probably the last Great John Woo Film we'll ever see, as well as being the only American he's made that doesn't suck cow testicles.
Do the Math.

Scissors beats paper
Connery beats Woo
Rock beats Face/Off
Face/Off brutally murders The Rock in almost every way, yet I still love The Rock as a film.

The Rock is one of the last great summer action blockbusters: great action, funny dialogue, and good performances.
Face/Off IS the last great summer action blockbuster: a masterpiece of action, second only to Die Hard in it's perfection.

Without The Rock there would BE no Face/Off. Its more of a watershed film than Face/Off is, which is a good film, but doesn't go anywheres. Plus, on a technical level, The Rock is better anyways.

Hey Hey Travolta didn't make anything as Bad as Zardoz.
Oh wait except for Boy in the Plastic Bubble, Staying Alive, Look Whose Talking Too, Look Whose Talking Now, Mad City, A Civil Action, The Generals Daughter, Lucky Numbers, Battle Field Earth...(trails off)...... Swordfish, Domestic Disturbance, Basic. Yeah except for those 47 movies he's done OK.:lol

I think Face/Off was just more of a creative story rather than bad guy takes hostages, heroes save the day, which was basically The Rock in a nutshell.

I'm going to have to agree. The Rock is another one of those "Die Hard on a..." movies. Face/Off is...well, there's really nothing like Face/Off.

Unless by some miracle, I think we can safely say these rounds are over.
