Christmas, Hanukkah (yeah, so I'm a little late), Kwanza, Tete, etc.
Me, I'm goin' back to Cali, goin' back to Cali' Yo! I don't think so.
It's going to be me, my mother & father. Brother, Sister in law and my nephew. And my sister, brother in law, two nieces, and another nephew in one (albeit big) house. So looking forward to it (honestly).

Having smallish children in the house makes for an excitin' Christmas.
My girls usually wake us up between five and six in the morning. Ugh! My husband makes us a very nice breakfast and we invite anyone over to share it with us who cares to.
Once breakfast is over we can no longer hold the rabid children back from their gifts so we begin the opening. We're really mean parents. We force them to open one gift, then wait while someone else takes a turn, so on and so on. I don't like the wild, crazy everyone ripping in at once business.
Opening the presents usually takes about an hour. Then it takes about six hours to get them out of their packaging. (Why does a child's toy have to be more tightly packaged than J-Lo's ass?) Then at some point I usually have to run to the gas station and pay three times as much for batteries as they usually cost...all because I didn't read on the package that the toy I bought requires two double D's.
We have a nice dinner around three. This year my Grandma, Dad, Dad's girlfriend, my Mom, my brother and his kids are all coming to my house for dinner. I'm making turkey and the trimmings because we didn't make it for Thanksgiving (we had it, but not at my own house so we didn't have all the yummy leftovers).
That's it. By Saturday I'll be taking down all the Christmas stuff and packing it away for next year.

A family member isn't doing well right now. Which is horrible timing, but you know, it happens.
It's going to take a lot to get through the holidays.
Blahhhh.

Me me Ma, Me Sis, and me Brother are going to spend Christmas together for the first time in 4 years. Me other brother and Me Da are still insisting on getting the hell away, maybe in another for years.
Dysfunctional familes...Fun. :blat
For Christmas we're either spending all day watching movies in a movie theater... or at home.
Yay. Excitement.
Then for New Years we're going to an orgy party.
Or sitting at home drinking.
One or the other. :lol
Hmm....so far I've repainted Allie's room a light pink since she informed me everyday for about 6 months that yellow was not her favorite color anymore and why was her room yellow? then I'm getting bunk beds delivered tomorrow to surprise her. Room looks very girly now.
Christmas Eve's forecast is rainy and cold. How CONVENIENT for "Santa" has to put together a trampoline!! Also on Christmas Eve, we always go to our church's service which is mainly Christmas carols and of course the traditional Christmas story. Next we drive towards a certain section of town. How do I put this in polite terms? Well the place is completely occupied by people of the African American lineage. In the housing, they have more lights than imaginable. Ok.. every house (over 30) has so many light strands that you can't see the yard. Think Griswald times 1,000,000. It is a hoot to see the area. It is known all through the middle georgia area. Then we proceed to drive around looking at Christmas lights around town.
Now on to Christmas day. Whoozer, I have no clue how you hold the kids away from the presents until after breakfast! lol I remember when I was younger always having trouble sleeping and my two brothers and I would be up by 5 am. Allie will probably wake up around 6. Lindsay is in the crawling stage now and she makes a beeline for the presents every time I sit her down in the family room. The kid knows what to go for. So we open presents definitely before breakfast.
Our first tradition on Christmas is to go to my grandfather's house for breakfast with the entire family. MMMM MMMM the best eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes and more!! Then after that I'll head to my mom's house for a bit before we all head back to my house for a scrumptious turkey dinner by me!
After the kids play for awhile, Tiff and I usually go to a movie late Christmas Day. But this was during the days before 2 kids...so more than likely we'll wait til the day after Christmas for this.
Matt, I would like to change your user title to "Norman Rockwell"
go right ahead. lol
I get more joy out of seeing Allie and Lindsay (when she's older and know's what's going on) being happy. I showed her the room painted today. I found this border to go around the room that has butterflies and fairies. When she saw it she was so happy that she ran up and gave me the biggest hug and kissed me 10 times. Then when I showed her the fairies, she said "Are fairies and hobbits friends?" HOW COOL IS THAT! lol
