I have no love for the show, but the rest of the UK foam at the mouth over it...
If Simon Cowell were judging the Christmas Day World Idol competition the way he does the American Idol contestants, his comments would undoubtedly be caustic. As it is, Cowell, who will appear on the show as one of the judges, has barely restrained his criticism. In an interview with the New York Daily News, Cowell remarked: "The problem is you've got 11 winners [from Idol competitions all over the world] and 10 of them are now losers." He reserved his harshest criticism for his fellow judges: "Every one of these people has based themselves on my character," he said. "They think it's cool to be me." He particularly laid into Canadian judge Zack Werner. "He's a failed artist who doesn't know what he is talking about," Cowell said.
