Hmmmm. Anyways, these are my settings:

IRC Network: ShadowFire
irc.rtds.org port 6667

After connecting to the IRC server I enter #filmhobbit for the channel.

Use the following settings Blunt (and anyone else using mIRC (http://www.mirc.org/) )...

IMAGE FILES ARE BIG, 56K USERS BE WARNED

First open the IRC Options dialog window (File > Options)

IRC Options Menu (http://impclordlink.shackspace.com/images/chatroom/irc_options.jpg)

Set the IRC Network to 'All' (as shown), and click the 'Add' button. This will bring up the server window.

Add Server Window (http://impclordlink.shackspace.com/images/chatroom/add_server.jpg)

Set the fields in that window exactly as shown in the image, and click the 'Add' button. You will be returned to the 'Options' window. Then click the 'Connect to Server' button. The Options window will close and you should connect to the server.

Connected to Server (http://impclordlink.shackspace.com/images/chatroom/connected.jpg)

(Your screen will not be black, I use a heavily modified version of mIRC)

Then type this to join the FilmHobbit room:

/join #filmhobbit

If you want, you can set mIRC to connect to our server automatically with the following steps:

Open the Options Window
Expand the 'Connect' section (click the little plus sign)
Under 'Options' enable the check box, 'Connect on Startup'

You will still have to manually join the chatroom itself, because I can't remember exactly how to do that on our IRC server. (We use a very small IRC server, so it's not avaliable in the lists that mIRC has built-in for channel selection/auto-joining)
