Got any?

Myself am trying to cut back on fatty food and eat more healthy stuff. Not that I have to watch my weight or anything but I do eat way too much junk.

Sooooo lots of wholewheat, fresh vegetables & fruit for me in 2004 :( ;)

Fifth year in the row...

I WILL go to the gym and work off my beer gut... no really this year I will.

Plans to hit the beach in the summer so that may lend more motivation to this year's quest.

I'm in the same boat Tay. I've got plans for a vacation to Florida, so I'll have motivation too.

I HIGHLY recomend the Atkins diet.

Worked (mostly) for me, and everyone I know who has tied it has lost LOTS of weight.

To destroy everyone who says "My new years resolution is to not have a new years resolution. HAHAHA, I'm so witty"

Val, I don't need to burn off weight, my weight's fine, it's the ring o' beer I'm gonna have to burn off and convert into muscle of some sort.

I have 2.

1. Get myself in shape for the first time in my entire life... work out every freakin day, stop drinking soda. I don't really WANT to do this, but I have to for my health.

2. Find a new job. Preferably in a different field from Engineering, but ANY PLACE ELSE. THIS YEAR I MUST GET OUT!!!

Abscynthe

I have a few. They're pretty much the same as last year.

1. I've gained almost 10lbs since I quit smoking (43 days today! Go me!), so I resolve to hit the gym more often and eat healthy.

2. Get more motivated and get some of the projects on my list done this year. This includes the house!

3. Learn to play an instrument. My husband bought me a violin for Christmas, so I will be learning to play that.

4. Finish a rough draft of my book.

1. I want to lose 10 pounds or more. I am a pudge :D

2. I resolve to be cleaner, and to pick up my room more often.

I suggest being unconcious for the first two weeks. :)

me:
to not start smoking again. I haven't done it for over two months now:) I just started back at work today though so I'll probably be smoking by the end of the week:lol

Don't start smoking again, smeags. It's a gross habit.

Bordick
12-30-2004, 08:05 PM
It is indeed gross.....but goddamn it is it hard to stop. I haven't been more adamant about kicking it than I have in the past couple months. My record's a week, but I so need to cut it permanantly.

I have a three point plan to happiness in 2005:

1. Get fit
2. Get laid
3. Get a decent job

Can't lose

Aims for 2005 (each one to be achieved before moving onto the next):

1. Get a job

2. Move out

3. Find out how serious Mr Phant is about moving here

4. Get fit (no more losing weight/trying to lose weight by dieting alone, actual fitness is something I've never achieved and really want to try for)

4a. Stop substituting chocolate/icecream for sex whilst waiting for my beloved to get here.

5. Plan a certain event for 2006 (or 2007 depending how quickly reach number five on a list of tough aims)

fafhrd

1. figure out if I'm going for PhD or not, and if not, get teaching job. Or do gov't work. Whatever, as long as it's not retail.

2. get a girlfriend and get laid.

3. go to as many baseball games as I can.

I wish you good luck and much willpower on your attempt to quit smoking, Bordick. I never did, but I watched my mom struggle to give it up on many an occasion.

As for me, my new year's resolution is to make it through this pregancy with my sanity intact. I was in pretty doggone good shape before this so I hope I can get back into shape pretty fast.

I miss alcohol, but I can't lie about how much better I feel without it. I'm wavering on giving it up altogether or just being a bit more moderate.

Anyway, I'm off to celebreate the new year's arrival with good friends and a bottle of bubbly red cranberry juice!

I actually managed to break my resolution within a couple of hours.

But you know what? It's really hard not to curse, and even harder to go from cursing at dinner to not curing five hours later. I had a couple of slip-ups, but I really want to take it seriously.

My new year's resolution is to give up
soft drinks again. I did it once for 5 months, we'll see how long it lasts this time. :lol

I need to lose about 20 lbs. I'm trying to get back into running shape. But with grad school, work, this place, and most importantly, My family, it's tough to make time. But I'll just start getting up earlier to do it.

I also need to limit the cursing. I shall start small. I shall eliminate the f-bomb! :)

My resolutions:

1. Continue not smoking, since I quit last year

2. Cut down on drinking.

3. Stop kidding myself and others. Therefore, please ignore 2.

4. Have a shitload of fun, and especially on this board.

Happy ****ing New year everyone

I resolve:

To continue with the non-smoking. It's been almost 1 year and 2 months so we're doing well so far.

To continue with my newly-adopted healthy lifestyle. I've lost 10 pounds so far; my goal is to be 135 by March 18th. That and my husband said he'd give me $300 for new clothes if I hit my goal by March.

To be more proficient in playing the violin and continue my lessons

To be more active: crafts, dance, finishing projects, finishing the house.

1. Stop smoking (for real this time)
2. Get a job and KEEP it
3. Graduate from community college and move on to a four-year college
4. Not make the same mistakes I made in 2004!!!!

1)Find out why my b/f's mother hates me and fix the situation
2)Find some time to Volunteer at a hospital or at a shelter of some sort.
3)Like everyone else, I want to loose a few pounds. Pants are starting to get too tight again!

Answer: you are stealing her little boy away from here, and since no woman will ever be good enough for him, neither will you. That's the way a lot of mothers think.

This is what people keep telling me too, although personally I think in my particular situation its because shes something of a viscious bitch (no offense honey, I know shes the only mother you have, but you have to admit she hated me a very long time before she met me)

Start smoking so you have the satisfaction of quitting smoking?

UPDATE ON MINE:

I have continued with the nonsmoking; I think this one is going to stick.

I have continued (somewhat) with my diet; I'm closer to my goal but I'll tell ya, it's awfully boring and I'm considering jumping ship with this whole diet thing.

I have continued with my lessons, but due to all the other shit I have to do, am not getting more proficient.

Perhaps I should have made a resolution to make more time.

Abscynthe

THAT is definitely one thing I don't miss. I found some old pictures of myself, and I definitely did not look cool with a cigarette.

And the cravings really don't come any more; after all it's been over a year now. But every so often I'll have just one ****ed up day, and that's the first thing that pops into my mind. It lasts all of 30 seconds, though.

I'd go for Egyptian origin, personally.
Both Seth and Ra are Egyptian deities.
