View Full Version : X-Men 2 Movie Set
My wife, beautiful thing that she is, bought me the X-Men box set thingy (what is it called?) with both X-Men and X2 and 2 other discs of extras.
First off, I love X2.
Also, the discs look really sharp, cool menus and everything.
The documentaries are pretty boring and dry... but probably just because I've been spoiled by Lord of the Rings.
Anyway... WHAT IS WITH THE DELETED SCENES???? Worst deleted scenes ever.
For each, they play a good 2 - 5 minute clip from the movie. In that 2-5 minute clip there is an average of ONE second of new footage. In some of them, I couldn't even see anything new at all.
WORST DELETED SCENES EVER.
i have that set as well. and you are right for about 5 of the deleted scenes.. I had to rewatch em to find anything deleted. lol

Yeah, really bad.
And the one with stuff supposedly added to the Wolverine/Deathstrike fight... there is 1 second of footage, and you can only pick it out because in that one second they left all the wire harnesses in that are attached to Jackman and Hu.

Hobbit, have you seen the "Sgt. Candy" deleted scene from Terminator 3? That was the worst.
Was it actually a deleted scene, because if it was it was better than most of the ones on X2.
You have to realize that the things labeled as deleted scenes in X2 are just normal scenes cut and pasted into the deleted part of the menu.

I really liked the Sgt. Candy scene. Maybe me owning Hercules in New York and loving it has something to do with that though.
Hobberton, the scene where Mystique sees the file on Kurt Wagner was nice, though, wasn't it? Yes,I agree it was too long for the amount of new footage put back in.

Not really. It didn't fit at all within the context of the movie. Good choice leaving that .5 second of footage out.
I have that same set, and haven't pillaged it yet. They obviously didn't need much change, as the movie ruled. I love the look of the set and the movie, that's enough for me.

That's all well and good, but this is a DVD forum, and thus we discuss the features etc. on the DVD. :)
So the movie being good enough for you is fine... I love it. But that isn't really the point of this forum.
I'll comment on them once I see it, but this isn't the first DVD that's had deleted scenes like these. Pirates of the Caribbean, if I remember right, was very unspectacular and sounds like your description of X2.
