I am a movie soundtrack lover. I'll go to a movie, leave the theater and go directly to the store to get the soundtrack.

Obviously some are better than others. I'd like to hear from ya'll what soundtracks are worth buying.

A few that I highly recommend are:

"Cruel Intentions" I love it. It's got a nice variety of "alternative" music on it and I like every song on it. Best cut:
"Bittersweet Symphony" by the Verve.

"O Brother Where Art Thou" I'm not a country music listener and this is not a country music album. It's folk/bluegrass/gospel and it's perfect. Even the most musically jaded person would have a hard time not being sucked into "Man of Constant Sorrow" or "Big Rock Candy Mountain".

"Notting Hill" Chick music for sure. Best cut: "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone", followed closely by "She" by Elvis Costello

"Shrek" Fun, catchy, and very energizing. Best cuts: "I'm On My Way, You Belong To Me, Stay Home...aw heck...every song on this disc is great. If you don't own this one go out and get it...you won't be sorry.

To me, the best soundtrack ever, has to be Bon Jovi's solo album for Young Guns II

I also have the Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey Soundtrack.....Hair band Metal from the time period. Good shit.

Very best soundtracks ever: Singles, Donnie Darko (okay, they never actually released the soundtrack, just the score, but it's damn good anyway), The Royal Tenenbaums

I think I'll go with Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion....love those 80s.

Great choices with Notting Hill (especially your fave cut) and Shrek.

Another one I really like is Grosse Point Blank...it's 80's but not mainstream 80's and it's really good. Blister in the Sun, etc.

Spike Lee's movie's have some good soundtracks too. My favorite is Crooklyn. Some great old r&b and soul music on that album.

I have There's Something About Mary (present) and Lost In Translation (FH contest). For some reason though, the LIT soundtrack doesn't work in my computer so I never listen to it.

I don't really go after soundtracks much, unless I hear a piece of music in a film that really strikes me, and I need to hear it again. Some of the sountracks that I really love are:

The Matrix OST
Requiem for a Dream
LOTR Trilogy (all three soundtracks)
