Anybody buy boxed sets? I know sometimes they're outrageously expensive...but I buy them through BMG music service when they have them at like 60% off.

For Christmas I gave Dave two boxed sets

The Essential Johnny Cash 1955-1983 and

Roots and Blues The Retrospective 1925-1950

For his birthday a couple of years ago I got him Chess Blues which is a four disc boxed set covers Chess records blues from 1947-1967.

I also have a gigantic Rolling Stones box set that I won from the local classic rock station for answering a trivia question about the Who. The Stones are one of those bands that it's great to have a boxed set of because they have so many freakin' albums!

I have Bruce Springsteen Live '75-'85 in a nice boxed set...actually I have two...one on CD and one on vinyl.

I also have gorgeous set of Ella Fitzgerald that's like a book with the discs slipped between the pages. I love it.

My Dad is a big Pink Floyd fan so I gave him a nice boxed set of Floyd for his birthday a few years back.
