If you don't know, chances are they aren't your favorite.

FPS and Other: Fighting games.

I'm definitely not a fan of fighting games. They can be fun for a few minutes, but generally, they go no where.

Intol, that's a bit of a wide and slightly inaccurate spectrum to be filling with your description.

FPS = First Person Shooter.

Everything from shallow blast-alls like Doom and Halo, to more interactive ones like Half-Life and Deus Ex.

Fighting games a la Tekken are much different.

RTS = Real Time Strategy. Command & Conquer and the likes.

Actually I prefer TPS = Third Person Shooters - like Enter The Matrix, Grand Theft Auto and Hitman.

I know what FPS stands for. I like FPS's like Duke Nukem, Quake, Red Faction, etc.

As for fighting games, I'm more into the Tekken series and Mortal Kombat.

I also like some TPS's, but I usually prefer FPS. Some TPS's I like are GTA series, Manhunt, and the Bond games, which I love.

My translation of FPS and RTS was for B1ade... he's the one that asked! :lol

Okay, I definitely don't like first-person shooters. Third-person shooters seem to be my favorite these days: GTA3 and Max Paybe being at the top of the list.

:lol Sorry, Tay. I thought you directed that at me since the first sentence of your post was in responce to mine.:p

I'm also a big fan of Max Payne, forgot about it until Blade mentioned.:)

Max Payne's on my list tho I may hold out for Max Payne 2.

I've read and heard that Max Payne 2 is pretty much a rehash of the original, but with a love story, and it's a lot shorter, too.

Yeah, Max Payne 2 is very similar to the original, the ending is even quite similar, sadly. But, it's fun. I enjoyed it a lot.

I like a little of everything, but I play RPGs the most. If I had to order from most favorite to least favorite it'd probably go:

1: RPGs
2: Action/Adventure/Platform
3: Strategy/RTS/Simulations
3.5: Fighting
4: Shooters

FPS makes me nautious for some reason.

Sports games are cool because I'm not a real fan of that many sports, so to play the games are fun, even though I have no idea who half the people are. Hockey & Basketball mostly. Baseball I know and follow, but they're games are boring. Football is only cool to play if it's like Blitz or something just one on one with somebody and win.

Driving games....I can't do only because I have no clue how to really drive. and whenever I have been behind the wheel it's shocking. I can do golf carts and gators no prob, but in an automplibe forget about it. I'm uncoordinated. You ever go to an amuzement park and ride the bumper cars, there's always a guy going in circles and can't figure it out properly. I'm that guy.

Back when I was a wee lad, playing adventure games were cool. it was stable. normally you'd be going from left to right. Now since everything's gotten all better. and these 3 dimensional levels are all over the place I have no idea what I'm doing.

Fighting games are cool to play with people, but once you get all the extra characters or what not....the fun ends there.

Role Playing.....much like Foreign films, I don't like to have to read all the damn time to understand everything I just wanna get to the point. I'm a fan if instant gratification.

I'm going with Other!

You know, Duke Nukem 3D makes me nautious. I never had that problem with any other game, though.

Surprised how high FPS is.

Adventure. I like RPG elements but not the occassional button-to-make-a-choice movies like Final Fantasy.

Sports are close.

FPS are pretty much the ONLY type of game I play anymore. Unless of course I have a friend over or something, and I break out the fighting games to beat some ass.:D

I should've voted for other. I didn't think about it, but I probably like simulations more than adventure. Roller Coaster Tycoon, the Sims, Sim City, etc.

Also, interesting, what's your favorite game of each genre?

FPS: Metroid Prime

RPG: Knights of the Old Republic

RTS: Galactic Battle Grounds

Sports: Madden

Racing: Project Gotham II

Adventure: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Platform: Super Mario World II: Yoshi's Island

Fighting: Smash Bros. Melee

Flight Simulator: X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter

Simulation: The Sims 2
