I think alot of stuff sucked this year. Chow Yun Fat definitely disappointed me.
Bulletproof Monk was just wrong in so many ways.
Old School had good commercials so I'll see it at the $1.50 theater when it shows up there.

In order of preference:

Love Liza: Devestatingly beautiful, darkly funny, and fantastic. This shows what Hoffman is capable of. I wish it would get more recognition.

Lost in Translation: Fantastic Bill Murray, but also just an awesome flick. Very cool that the daughter of a bigtime director can create something this good.

Kill Bill v.1: Wow. Tarentino does his thing, and does it incredibly well. Not for everyone, with that level of violence--nuff said.

Daredevil: Wow. Superhero flicks are a dime a dozen, but this one managed to stand out, which is a helluva achievement.

Matrix Reloaded: Wow. Unlike T3, there were actually new special effects here. And the storyline is much better developed, showing the signs of a planned sequence of movies, instead of a sequel that is merely created to cash in on an unexpected hit.

About Schmidt: Nearly wow. I remember being really impressed initially, but looking back, it really kinda fades--that's not a good sign.

Old School: Not bad at all. Par for the course.

Terminator 3: Blah. What's the point? There was nothing new between T2 and T3. There was LOTS of new stuff between T1 and T2.

Italian Job: Bah. Even Ed Norton couldn't save this. Between this one, and the obscenely awful Transporter, I've developed a gagging reflex against Jason Statham.

The Life of David Gale: Bah. Kevin Spacey is about as passe as flared pants and the Smurfs, could someone lock him up already please?

The Core: Ohmigod. Putting Hilary Swank in this thing is like casting Mr. Rogers in a porno. She deserves a freaking Oscar for keeping a straight face when she did a talkshow promo for this disaster.

Bill Murray's whole performance. Silly and devastating at the same time
Scarlett Johanssen. My GOD what a hottie. I'll definitely be paying more attention to her thats for sure.
The return of Nick the Lounge Singer (what was the second song he sang?)
"If you think the food is good, why don't you stay there?"-Funniest line in the movie.

since it's 2004 now...I'm going to just throw out a few highlights this year for me.

Cabin Fever - maybe it's the lover of cheesy 80s horror movies in me, but I loved this movie.

Seabiscuit - the little movie that I didn't really thing I'd like...ended up surprising me.

SWAT - ok, so I rented it for the eye-candy, then stayed for the action.

28 Days Later - greatness...simply greatness

Finding Nemo - rented 4 times when it came out, finally got it for Christmas. One of the best movies EVER. I love Bubbles.

Italian Job - Decent action...no brainer...good film.

The Life of David Gale - biased opinion here. Love Kevin Spacey, Liked this movie.

Bruce Almighty - good lord! this movie was HILARIOUS!! Great times.

X2 - sorry, liked the original better.

Matrix: Reloaded - decent, liked the original better.

T3 - good addition to the series, no complaints.

other stuff people mentioned that I want to:
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Eye
The Recruit
Basic
Tomb Raider 2
