not really.............I just tend to see things differently.....before I realized it was the Eye of Sauron in FOTR I was wondering why Elijah was cowering to a firey box ;)

Bordick if you'd have no problem dipping your dick in a firey box then you've got much bigger issues then seeing vaginas everywhere.
"Do you like the word VVVAAAAGGGIIIINNNNNAAAA"
Oh the Big Lebowski where would we be without you :lol

I hope the transfer is better then the German release.
No matter how good the transfer is... the movie will still suck.

Seriously Dune didn't suck willingly it was hamstrung and the film itself is a visual feast.

The non-anamorphic bare-bones is alright, not great but passable.

Dune does not "suck." It is a visual feast, a complete triumph of production design, special effects, and costumes. It's in the narrative that the movie is a disaster.

So it's kinda like a model. A soulless, brainless, IQ sucking, visual feast.

Since when did Dune suddenly equate to Torque?

Saying Dune is "soulless and brainless is a bit much. It's a mess, but there is much to love. And how could I forget that score?!?

I think just an hour more of running time would have helped alot. I mean if you look at the first hour its a pretty clear and faithful adaptation. The problem is that the first half of the movie covers like the first 1/5 of the book So once Paul makes it to the Freeman its almost like someone just randomly cut together clips of the real Dune movie.

I agree. If each Lord of the Rings movie can be three hours a piece, then Dune should have been around the same length. The bastard TV version makes sense, and it runs about 190 minutes (although the version I taped runs 175 minutes). The first hour is faithful, but there are certain things they could have explained better. I still hope that Lynch re-edits it some day. There is a lot of good footage, and with the right dedication, it could be a very good movie.
An hour more of characters staring into the screen while we listen to their inner monologue? No thanks.

If they had another hour they wouldn't need inner monolouges.

Well I like it. At least he had the balls to try something a little different from the norm, even if he didn't pull it off.
Can never accuse Mr Lynch of playing it safe.
You could say the same thing about Gigli.
At least they didn't play it safe!

I like the inner monologues, they add something extra.
