I'm excited for Phoenix because unlike Goblet, there's fewer "special effects" moments so I have a feeling that they will be able to focus more on the story and less on the action sequences. Out of the 4 movies, Azkaban was my favorite. I felt like with azkaban they were able to take their time. Goblet felt rushed, mainly because it felt like they lent so much time to the tasks that the beginning (the world cup) and the ending (the sequence of events that come after harry returns from the cemetary) were cut short and sort of crammed in. I want to see Phoenix have a nice slow build-up and then end with all of us feeling depressed... just like the book.

Yeah i liked that about phoenix too. I wish Curan would come back for this one it has the most in common with Azkaban I think. I just hope they know what to cut and don't try to cram everything in. hearing that theyre keeping the cenataurs makes it sound like they are though because that would have been the first thing to go for me. argh
Personally I think Vera Drake is much too kindly for Umbridge. Granted I've only seen her in that movie so she could be a total beeyatch elsewhere, but still.
All I have to say about Phoenix is more Oldman = Kickass.
Will be sad to see my favorite character go down in flames.... again.
I need to do more research on the actors. The only character that I ever really wanted to see transpire on film was Umbridge, she really intrigued me as a character in the book so to see how she plays out on film will be interesting.
I agree with EDJ I want to see Oldman back, he really was fantastic and I was a little bit dissappointed that there wasn't more of him in Goblet, not that I remember how much of a role he played in the book. But it really didn't feel as though it was enough when he was in the fire place.
Sirius wasnt in goblet all that much. Harry writes him and even visits him once in the cave near hogsmeade where sirius was hiding.
The only Sirius part that I wished they'd put in the goblet movie was at the end. When Sirius shows up to be at Harry's side after he returns from the maze. It wasnt a big part of the book but it really shows Sirius' fatherly/unclish nature when it comes to harry.

the thing i dont like about luna is the same thing i dont like about draco. Bleach-blonde hair. Dont they have kids in the UK with normal blonde hair? I pictured luna's hair to be a sort of mousey blonde... not some lindsay lohan wig.
Not to say that hair is the most important thing but when its platinum blonde it sorta stands out a bit.

I think one of the things that the HP movies have excelled at is translated the look of the characters well to the screen.
I am curius as to what other people who have read the book might think, but I believe that this movie may not be as liked as the others for non-fans. Though there are some dramatic events, the entire book is just kind of leading up to the 6th and (presumably) 7th books.
I agree Trip! Book five was like the crossover book. There's also the major anticipation for book 7. People are more interested in reading the final book than they are about phoenix the movie.

According to fan website GaryOldman.info, Gary's manager contacted them and told them they don't know yet if Gary will participate in the next Harry Potter Movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, as Sirius Black, Harry's Godfather.
Gary Oldman
His manager said, "You will be shocked and surprised to learn that at this time there are no plans for Gary to appear in the next Harry Potter film. To say we are puzzled on this side about this is an understatement at the every least! You may feel free to post this info. If the situation changes, I will let you know. There would be no objection from me if fans wrote letters to Warners about this!"
Riitta Kettunen of GaryOldman.info, which covers all of Gary's career, not just Harry Potter, says that most of us them at the site love the Harry Potter stories and movies and they loved the way Gary Oldman played Sirius in the third movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
So, now they're asking your help and influence to get Sirius in next movie Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix and, of course, to make sure the part is played again by Gary Oldman. They echo the sentiments of Harry Potter fans everywhere in believing that Sirius’s part is extremely important, especially in Order of the Phoenix, and they believe that Gary Oldman’s talent is what is needed to play it properly.
I'm wondering that, myself. Sirius is a pretty important / main character in book 5, not to mention the ending. I really hope that is not a story line that will be cut, or reduced.

I'm sure this is total bullshit, heh. The only way I could see Oldman not coming back is if he didn't want to. Warner Bros would never recast the character if he wanted to come back, he was perfect in the role! It makes no sense. Unless theyre gonna pull a Two Towers and save the end for the next one but seriously that's the stipidest ****ing idea ever.
