Stargate SG-1's pilot episode was okay. It wasn't bad by any means, but it could have been better, though.

SG-1 really doesn't get awesome until it's 2nd Season.

Yeah, Stargate SG-1 has 10 Seasons on DVD. And I do hope they air SG-1 and Atlantis in your area when Stargate Universe comes your way (down under).

Management:

Management is an odd romantic comedy. At first I didn't know what to make of this film; but as time went on I started to enjoy it on some weird quasi level. Then again, I do like both the leads in this; so maybe that is why had a good time with this flick.

Rating:

B-

Agreed. Most of Stargate's weakest episodes was in Season 1 and 10.

Yeah, the original movie that came out in theaters was descent.

Yeah, I think certain shows don't find their footing writing wise until it's second year. It might be a lack of planning on the producers part when a show is first starting out or something.

Flattery will get you everywhere.

Yeah, that is a shame. I hope you get a chance to see Stargate Universe. I am curious to see if you would like it or not. It is a very odd duck of a show. I can't tell if I like it sometimes or hate it.

Well, it would be okay if you didn't like the new Stargate series (SGU). I am not exactly wild about Stargate Universe sometimes myself but I do feel compelled to watch it for some odd reason, though.

Oh, yeah; Stargate the theatrical movie was done very well. In fact, the movie was very entertaining. However, it just didn't blow me away like other science fiction films, though.

Well it is good you are watching the current season because you are putting alot in to the stargate thread and you seem to be able to show a lot of good things about the series

I think alot of things you have said about the series makes aperson want to veiw it and get into conversations so l am glad you are watching it

Well when l watched the original movie it was exciting not to the point that you would want to see it in a repeat form

I liked the guty with the glasses he was the one l think paleyed the scientist

i think he palyed the same character for a couple of season but l do not know his name

Also the blonde woman who is in the tv series was in the original movie and l am not sure if she is in the current season.

Well, I write in hopes that folks do honestly give Stargate a proper chance.
Certain episodes can definitely turn you off from the series.

Quote:

Yeah, the original theatrical Stargate movie is the type of film to watch every once and a great while, thats for sure.

Quote:

Jason Spader played the scientist guy in the theatrical movie.
And Michael Shanks played the scientist guy in the Television series.

Quote:

Amanda Tapping (the blonde woman) was not in the original theatrical movie. She played in all 10 Seasons of SG-1 and in one full Season on Atlantis. She has also done a couple direct to DVD Stargate movies, as well.

Amanda Tapping even made a cameo appearance in the pilot episode of the new Stargate series called "Stargate Universe". However, she hasn't made any other appearances since then, though.

I thought the blonde woman was in the original movie but you say she wasnt that is something l wouldnt mind seeing for myself

I do know that she was in the rest of the series she has aged along the way and there has been alot of diffrerent characters that you get to know on the way through the 10 seasons

Amanda Tapping made her first appearance on Stargate in the Stargate TV Movie. Not the theatrical movie that came before it.

If you are referring to another actress within the theatrical Stargate movie there was an older actress and a brunette (brown haired) actress.

Anyways, here is a list of actors for the theatrical Stargate Movie at IMDB...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111282/

Well, if you are referring to Amanda Tapping (the popular blonde actress in Stargate) yes... she was in all 10 Seasons of SG-1.

If you haven't watched all of the series, I highly recommend in watching them on DVD, thats for sure.

Oh so there was two movies i know l have seen one but l have not seen the theatrical version

What did you think of that one

i just looked at the list of actors and Kurt Russell was in it.

I have not seen that version before

Well i have watched quite a bit of the series over the years because it was shown on tv quite a few times.

They also aired a separate series starring a different cast l can not rember who was in it but l know there was two versions of the series and sometimes they used to combine the both when certain things went wrong

i hope you know what l am talking about

Stargate the theatrical movie was okay. I like the series ten times better of course. However, if I were to compare the theatrical movie to the TV Movie. Well, I think the theatrical movie is better then.

Yeah, it's alright. I would only watch it if you were going to do a Stargate Marathon or something.

You definitely have won major brownie points with me from having done so, thats for sure.

Yes. There is a second series. It is called Stargate Atlantis. It is known for it's scary race of villains known as the Wraith.

Hey, your talking to a real honest to goodness Stargate fan. Of course I know what your referring to.

I wonder if Australia has the rights to this theatrical version since you said it was better than the movie.

You would have thought that we would have been able to see this but aus can be limited in what we get sometimes

I wouldnt mind seeing the movie with Kurt Russell to see if l would like it.

It is nice of you to give me a few brownie points but l would prefer something better only kidding Mr Jabber

But what l have seen of the tv series it can be exciting and they seem to disappear in to time through that time ring and they never know where they are going and sometimes they have trouble getting back
Of cause l know you are a big fan of the series and it is enjoyable talking about the movie and the series with you smiles

Miss Inserts:

QuickFlix (Which is your online DVD rental service) has the Stargate Theatrical Movie in it's database.

So you should have it in your local rental shops.

Here is the trailer for the film that started it all....

Side Note:

You will have to click on the video in order for it to play once you reach the page at the link provided (above).

Enjoy!

Actually the stargate is not a time ring. They just travel far distances in space with it. It is called the Stargate (Also called the "Chappa'ai" (Pronounced: Cha-Pa-Eye)) and SG-1 had only traveled back in time once by accident with it. However, the Stargate is mostly used for intergalactic planetary travel normally.

Thank you. I really hope you check out the Stargate film starring Kurt Russel. I would be curious to see if you would like it or not.

Here is an article on it...

It's an older movie. It came out in 1994. And it is a pretty popular film. So they should have it. Unless your DVD rental shop has a very limited selection or something.

Sorry about that. The link was not set up properly at first.
I have now corrected it, so you should be able to see the article now.

Yeah, our video rental store called Blockbuster does the same thing. However, they are too expensive. So I use Hulu, Netflix, and Redbox vending machines, instead.

Well, yeah, I suppose I know a thing or two I guess. And I do know how to pretty much get any answer I want from Google these days.

For me: my computer and Google is like this magical little box that if I shake it hard enough... I can get all of life's little answers.

Back in the 80s when I was a kid. I wasn't so lucky. I either....

a) gave up before I could find the answer to the question.
b) forgot about it.
c) went to the library to get the answer with no luck.
d) asked a couple of friends and family members and maybe got lucky.

Now a days I just punch a couple of buttons really quick and magically get the answer.

It's crazy!

Red Box DVD Rental Vending Machine is usually at most grocery stores.
It is also at certain gas stations, and drug stores, too.

Here is a guy explaining it...

Yeah, outside of the United States: Some of Google's really cool features are not available. Also, the information gathered in other countries is not as extensive as it is here in the US either.

Pretty much here in the US: If you want something bad enough, 9 times out of 10... you can find it with Google. Even hard to find school research or text book information.

A Handy trick I use a lot on Google is searching a website with Google. The main reason I do this is because there are a lot of websites out there who's personal search box either doesn't work properly or doesn't exist at all. So I don't even bother looking for a website's search box anymore. I simply use Google to do the work for me. Because it usually gives me the best results.

Okay, so how do you search a website using Google?

Simple.

1. Type in the key word you are looking for into Google's search box. Lets say I want to search for the term or phrase cats like beer.

2. I then would type the word site with a colon : after it. Which should look like this... site:

3. Finally I type in the name of the website without the "http://" or the "www". before it. So lets say I want to search the words cats like beer at Cinemablend.com

So when all is said and done: here is exactly what it looks like when I am searching for the term "cats like beer" at Cinemablend.com....
