Carry stole the show really. But like Batman and Robin, this movie had more of the feel the cartoon has, it would of been better with the feeling of the first two movies.
I remember this one being very dark, and the casting isn't all that bad either. I'll agree with Josh on Val Kilmer really having the look and feel of Batman..not sure what it is about him.
Tommy Lee Jone's Two Face was great as well, not to mention Carey's perfection of the Riddler (again agreeing with Josh).
I really don't like this. Kilmer's good, but aside from that it feels very much like Batman and Robin to me. Kidman and Kilmer have zero chemistry, O'Donnell's awful and Tommy Lee Jones isn't much better.
I don't hate it but I really don't care for it. Tommy Lee Jones is miscast horribly and the tone never hits the dark humour of the first two, flip-flopping between being dark and ridiculous. Plus Val Kilmer has all the charisma of a statue.
"Holy Rusted Metal, Batman!"

Very underrated. The performances were great, especially by Tommy Lee Jones. My second favorite, even if you can see the progression towards the bomb known as Batman and Robin.
I think Chris is a great Robin in this one. The guy gets trashed too harshely just for Batman & Robin. The trashing has bled over into Forever.
But O'Donnell is a GOOD Robin here.
And charisma? Batman is dark and tortured, not charismatic. Kilmer does Dark and Torutured well.
I will give you Tay that they missed an opportunity with Two-Face. Tommy Lee Jones was miscast, and the character was mis-used. The missed the boat on that one.
I hate both Schumacher films, they went for the camp too fast and too hard. As Tay said, Tommy Lee Jones was totally miscast as Two-Face. And the only Two-Face I've ever liked was the one from The Animated Series.
I never liked Kilmer as Batman. He did a great Bruce Wayne, but not a good Batman.
And Carrey? I feel he was just being himself, throughout the whole movie. Forget Edward Nigma! It's Jim Frickin Carrey!
He played the role as if The Riddler was holding onto The Joker's coattails. Sigh.
I think the only thing I really liked was the set designs, and Chris O'Donnell as Robin.
2.5, and that's being generous. Carrey's mis-casting was an effort to hide the horrible choice of Kilmer for Batman. The character may not be charastmatic, but Al Gore would have shown more intensity than Val did.
Tommy was another bad choice, though he was the least mis-cast of the lot. O'Donnell wasn't a bad choice for Robin, but his performance was muddled by everyone else trying to make sense of what was going on with their roles.
Once again, Alfred was the only good character in the whole film. As stories go, it wasn't a bad concept, just a little overdone with Schumacher's comic style.
