I just wanted to interupt and let you all know that I am doing the graphic novel adaptation for Robert Jordan's New Spring. I will post some of the character skethes here as soon as I get it from my artist so you can all enjoy and give feedbacks as well

Wow, that's really cool Khan! I'm really looking forward to that. Lots of WoT fans here.
I'm curious, why are they doing a graphic novel adaptation?
Yes, this is really awesome. I will be sure to show you the pictures when they come out, my friend, you and all the other WoT fans here too.
Well, with the success of the comic adaptation of George R.R. Martin's The Hedge Knight and the anticipation for Dragonlance: The Legend of Huma comic book to sell out as fast as The Hedge Knight comic book, the science fiction and fantasy fans are extremely happy. After that will be Raymond E. Feist, Tad Williams, Robert Silverberg, and many other science fiction and fantasy authors that I'm not able to mention at this time. When Robert Jordan saw the quality of work that we are coming up with, he was more than happy to license out New Spring: The Novel to my brothers and I to be adapted into comic book format.
It's a really terrific book, my friend. I finished reading the copy that Robert Jordan sent me and I know that you will enjoy it as much as I did Everything is being finalized with the artist so very soon you should be seeing some wonderful character sketches of Lan, Moraine, Siuan, Bukama and all the rest
Finished New Spring and it turns out to be pretty good.
Robert Jordan continues his great track record of adoring and respecting women in his stories.
Usually, if you have a strong female character, she's stong because she evidences male qualities.
Jordan's female characters are STRONG characters, but strong because they are extremely female... and that is their strength.
It's always interesting what a great job he does of that, and even moreso evident in New Spring, since it is almost entirely about female Aes Sedai and nothing else.
I'm happy that you enjoyed New Spring, the Novel. Wait until you see the character sketches. I've had a chance to see them and they are AWESOME. Once approved by Robert Jordan I will let you see them
Just finished reading the novel, Hobs. It's pretty good, although not as dramatic as Jordan's later WoT novels would be. The political intrigue was a nice touch- we get a better understanding of how the White Tower works. It was also nice to see alot more about Malkier, and the life of al'Lan Mandragoran prior to meeting Moiraine Sedai.
It'd be nice to see more work done on the past history of WoT down the line- maybe something about Tam al'Thor during the Aiel War? Or prehaps about Jaim Farstrider? Or the life (how LONG is it?!) of Cadsuane.
Of course, I fully expect legions of WoT fans to hate the book because it doesn't show exactly what THEY wanted to see happen. It's not their book- but Jordan's to tell. That just annoys me.
I've seen alot of WoT fans bitch and moan that "why didn't this happen or that happen or we see this or that or this" and the list goes on and on. Bottom line is, many "fans" have already mapped out where THEY want the story to go: and Jordan's final version on paper isn't going to satisfy them. That's my problem with many of them.
Personally, I preferred Crossroads of Twilight. Mat's story needs to be told. And the ending was great.
Hobs, have you yet read The World of the Wheel of Time? It's a huge coffee table book (which I actually snagged for free) and it's LOADED with background information on all the nations, the Aiel, Seanchan. It also has alot of cool info about the time of the War of the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. The coolest sections of the book are on Artur Hawkwing and Guaire Amsalam- the Wars of the Ta'ver'en and Wars of Succession. If you haven't read that book, do so!
Originally posted by FilmHobbit Nah, I'd rather stick to the novels... you start reading stuff like that and the books lose some of their wonder I think
Plus I only have time to be a huge geek for Lord of the Rings. No time for WoT!
No, really, the book is truly a work of art! It READS like the novels at parts. Trust me, you'll like it- and it'll make reading the books that much cooler.
