Saw it last night. I expected the entire movie to revolve around mainly the toture scenes since that's what the advertisements were pretty much telling you the movie was. Suprisingly, there were only a few scenes like that. The audience had more of a laughter reaction at most of these scenes rather than a scared or grossed out one. I'd say the movie went for a more creepy feel than a horror feel.
Saw it last night. I thought it was a better film than Saw, which I liked a whole lot. The beginning scenes in Amsterdam provided enough laughs and eye candy to make it out to be a more graphic Eurotrip. Once the killings started, it still held its reign over the audience. With the start of the killings, I really wasn't that grossed out, but that changed as the movie progressed.
I wish they showed more of Josh's death since he was such a main character. I absolutely loved how their two roommates wore makeup throughout the entire movie, but once they took Paxton to the "art exhibit", everything was gone, making them look like two different people. Her laughter and walk as she shows Josh being worked on to Josh is still implanted in my head. Really a creepy scene.
I love how Takashi Miike makes a guest appearance, and I love it even more how Paxton exacts revenge on just about everyone that did him and his buddies wrong. During most of the brutal scenes though, you can tell that Eli Roth had to cut some stuff out.
One thing that really annoys me about the whole "Quentin Tarantino presents" thing is how most of the audience, once leaving, kept commenting on how they didn't expect anything less from Tarantino. He didn't direct or write it people!!!
I absolutely hated SAW and found SAW II to be thoroughly insulting to anyone with a brain. Therefore, I will watch this and find tons of material for my next stand-up bit.
two words to describe this movie: suck-ed. a scary movie should be scary. i saw titties and ass for about 45 minutes (yes, so much titties and ass i actually want to complain about it) before anything scary happened. make that closer to an hour. wtf. cabin fever sucked. i should have seen this coming. i dont know what my main man q was doing presenting shit like this, but whateva. don't go unless you like having a fat man play hopscotch on your private parts while firing tear gas into your nasal cavity...oh shit...i forgot there are no spoilers without warnings...
It was suppose to be disturbing. Disturbing sights can scare you while disturbing you or just plan disturb you.
the only thing disturbing was that i only paid 5 dollars for a before 6 ticket, and still wanted my money back. i was disturbed for a total of 5 minutes (maybe) in the whole film. what the ****. the preview was almost as long and that's free.
