It's Vice City the Movie.

The action is going to be great, but if the lines in the trailer are any indication of the dialogue...be afraid. "You understand the meaning of foreboding don't you? As in...badness is happening right now."

It looks promising...........except for the linkin park song playing through the entire trailer mixed in with rap in the middle.

Definitely looks differently than I pictured, though. Very "Heatish", like Matt mentioned.

It has no "vice city" vibe. It has a Michael Mann vibe.

Matt's right. I don't sense anything from vice city in that trailer.

Been a while since I've seen Heat but it actually reeks of Collateral too. I see Mann's gone for the digital camera route again.

And Deus, dismissing a films dialogue from two lines totalling about 10 words, that's pretty poor, even for your "contrarian for the sake of it" standard.

Tay... the dialogue sucks.

What we've heard of it.

And worse... where's the Miami Vice themesong????

It's an adaptation. I think we've discussed that adaptations don't have to be the exact.

And one line of dialogue doesn't make an entire movie suck. I need context. I have never had a problem with Mann and his dialogue so I won't jump off the bridge just yet.

The Two Towers trailer could've simply had the line...

"Taters, what's taters?"
- "Po-tay-toes!!!"

...in it, would that automatically mean the dialogue sucks? Maybe they could've picked better, but Matt's right.

Jan Hammer in 2005? I don't think so. But that Jay-Z/Linkin Park track is horrible and over a year old so they could've done better, even if the score isn't done yet.

I'm hoping that "hippity hop" music is just trailer stuff. However, the Miami Vice theme is cheesy and dated. I liked it then but it's not hip anymore

Mann's never had a problem putting interesting dialogue in his trailers before. I think he just doesn't have any. He possibly got caught with crappy dialogue in an otherwise really interesting and action packed story.

I think it would have been more interesting to make the movie about 2 new characters...let the older guys cameo as retired cops. Even better, Tubbs went bad and these two are out to bust him. Now there's an adaptation I could get into.

Or you are jumping to conclusions and refuse to acknowlege it??

They don't have to play the music exactly is it was. They can redo it. But there should be SOME hint of the song in there somewhere. It's an instrumental, so it should be easy to work into a score or a new themesong or SOMETHING. It's an iconic part of the show. It's certainly better than the most overused frickin Linkin Park song in existence.

It's six months left till release, I doubt they have ANY score to use.

Better to use none than to just slap a shoddy quick fix up.

Anyway, I suggest we argue about the movie and the trailer for the movie, not each other's motivations in arguing and discussing the movie. We'll just end up chasing our tails that way.

That Linkin Park song is the modern rock equivalent of "Ow! I feel good!"

They'd have been better off using the old, unaltered themesong. That would have at least gotten people's attention, even if it's horribly dated.

Instead, it made me feel like I was watching Bad Boys II... and that's not a good thing.

PS- everyone watch Colin Farrell's shirt when you see this movie. He supposedly grew boobies during filming.
