Starring: Kirsten Dunst (Marie-Antoinette), Jason Schwartzman (Louis XVI), Rip Torn (King Louis XV), Judy Davis (Contesse de Noailles), Asia Argento (Madame du Barry), Marianne Faithfull (Maria Theresia)
I watched the old version last night, starring Norma Shearer and Tyrone Powers, and this story has nowhere to go but up. Really. As long as the same mistakes aren't made again - like having Marie owning the only brain cells in the film - then it should be alright.
Plus, Sophia's done a terrific job on both Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation, I'm looking forward to seeing her direction of Kirsten again along with what she's trying out with Jason.
Despite it being the oddest choice for a movie preview, the song playing in this preview is amazing. I know it is New Order, but can not seem to find it. Any help ?
I don't think this film will be anything to loose your head over...

Interesting, but its hard to understand the vibe of the movie. It's like a period piece, yet they speak in a modern language. I don't get it, but hey, I'm intrigued
The buzz hasn't been too hot on this one after Cannes, but I'm still curious about it. I loved "Lost In Translation" so I'm willing to give her next project a whirl.
At least Erik kinda liked it...that's a big step up from some of the other nastier feedback.
