Hi Josh,
Quite a few of your list haven't been released in the UK yet -I'm especially keen to see Walk the Line and Weather Man.
The only one you liked that I hated was Sin City - I found this so violent that I could hardly watch (man's legs being eaten by a dog?!) and also thought most of the acting was over the top - plus all the supposedly different stories were exactly the same as each other, tough man and blonde naked girl. But I know I'm in a minority on this one so will shut up about it.
I think my favourite ten (going on UK release dates) would be:
1.The Assassination of Richard Nixon
2. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
3. Pride and Prejudice
4. The Aviator
5. Batman Begins
6. Mrs Henderson Presents
7. A History of Violence
8. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
9. Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
10. Cinderella Man
(Just edited this to add in 'The Assassination of Richard Nixon' which I caught up with late and thought was brilliant.)
some good picks josh, half of which i haven't seen yet. but i trust your judgement. Revenge of the Sith and Serenity were both good films but disappointing enough to me that i couldn't include them in my top ten. ROS especially just leaves me bitter about the whole star wars franchise.
from what i saw last year, here are my ten picks:
1. Kung Fu Hustle
2. Walk the Line
3. Jarhead
4. Broken Flowers
5. The Brothers Grimm (i liked it more than anyone else on the planet, i know)
6. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
7. Sin City
8. Batman Begins
9. Elizabethtown
10. Crash
Yeah, Josh, I really like your list and any you have that I don't are movies I haven't seen.
1. Batman Begins
2. Walk the Line
3. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
4. King Kong
5. Crash
6. Cinderella Man
7. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
8. Wedding Crashers
9. 40 Year Old Virgin
10. Sin City
*If I ever get to see Munich, I'm sure it will crack the list.
The only one on Josh's list that I've seen that I disagree with was Star Wars III. I just didn't really care for it, except as a CGI spectacle. I didn't see Munich, Serenity, 40 Year Old Virgin, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, or Weather Man.
Batman Begins
Walk the Line
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
King Kong
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Elizabethtown
Cinderella Man
Crash
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Ware Rabbit
Pride and Prejudice
Things I disagree with: The best moment in Sin City. There were so many better scenes than the one with Josh Hartnet. The Wedding Crashers I felt was a better film than The 40-Year Old Virgin.
Here's my list. Like I said, havent seen Munich or Walk the Line yet, so this might change
1. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
2. King Kong
3. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
4. The 40 Year Old Virgin
5. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
6. Batman Begins
7. Cinderella Man
8. Crash
9. Munich
10. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

I like the list Josh. Only one I disagree with is 40 Year Old Virgin, a movie I find funny, but just not top 10 worthy, let alone #3. Close. I found a lot more enjoyment in Wedding Crashers, which may end up being my #1, somehow. I just loved that one.
I'll put my list up once I see a couple more movies, Constant Gardener, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and maybe Brokeback
Yeah, I'm a "40 year old Virgin" person myself. I did enjoy "Wedding Crashers" too but in different ways and not in the same ballpark.
I just think it's so rare to find a good comedy these days, let alone one with such well developed characters and heart.
Regarding your list: we have 2 in common, and there are 3 on your list I haven't seen (weather man, serenity, kiss kiss bang bang). Argh, I've been waiting for dvd release for WM and KKBB for what feels like eons.
1. Batman Begins
2. Kung Fu Hustle
3. Crash
4. Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith
5. Cinderella Man
6. Corpse Bride
7. King Kong
8. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
9. Serenity
10. Sin City
i guess im to only person who like corpse bride
weird how this list is completely different than my one HERE. that one is probably truer i guess.
