The story of hopeless romantic Julia Jones, who has finally met the man of her dreams, the very British Grant Fonckyerdoder. But before they can have their Big Fat Greek Wedding, they'll have to Meet the Parents; hook-up with The Wedding Planner, and contend with Grant's friend Andy - a spectacularly beautiful woman who wants to put an end to her Best Friend's Wedding.
not to say such a film deserves such attention to detail...but just thought I should let you know that your intro says "two of the three" when it should be "two of the six."
There are people who will no doubt find Date Movie uproariously funny. Luckily for the continued health of our culture and country those people are few and let's face it, they're the types who will laugh at just about anything. This is the absolute bottom rung of spoof-humor, and those of you with an average to above average IQ will find it a nearly impossible task to squeeze out even the tiniest of chuckles.
*sigh* Yep, I was with those people last night. I'll admit, I had a few chuckles, but most of the movie I just kept wondering how much longer I had until the end.

There were a few laughing REALLY loud in the one I was at.
I had a hard time staying awake though.
No, no insult there. There are times when I need mindless humor!
I think if they had tried to parody those movies in an original way, it would have worked. Instead, like you said, they took the best humor and tried too hard. Basically taking the same content, but twisting it.

The one thing I really hated was with the portrayal of the Barbra Streisand character. I think they went too hard there and it almost seemed like an insult instead of a parody
