Had it been a bog standard thriller it would've made for a good teaser. Maybe it's just me but like I said, the particular subject matter taints it for me.

Greengrass has made several TV movies about real-life tragic events which seem to have gained good reviews. Who knows, he may handle it well but I still say it's too soon.

I have zero interest in ever seeing this. It was hard enough living in NY during 9/11 and seeing it covered on the news every other millisecond. I'd rather pay $10 to help the victims than chip in for 'so-called' entertainment exploiting a recent tragedy.
Well, because the movie probably paints everyone on the plane as some kind of hero. Which is very nice and all, but the movie itself is claiming to be a true story and since nobody knows what really happened on the plane, it's more of a loosely based piece of fiction.
In any case, they should get a cut of the box office, for sure.
I'll definately be seeing this. It's going to be difficult to watch, but good movies are often made about things that make us feel uncomfortable. I saw the full, I guess, trailer before Inside Man and there wasn't any sort of unusual reaction. It looks like it is being done well and I'm willing to give it more than a chance. There have already been fictionalized movies on TV about this flight and other 9/11 events.
I don't really see how this would be different than movies about the Holocaust, etc. Does it really make that much difference if they come out 5 or 50 years after the event. I hope it's good. Greengrass can overdo the jerky camera effects and the trailer was full of them.
And this will hopefully be the last time I talk about it.
At the press screening, I've never seen the place clear out so fast and so quietly. No one said a word, half the audience was up and standing in the aisles before the credits had even really rolled.
People walked out with their heads down looking at the ground. No one said a word.
I couldn't even read the review without getting teary-eyed. I don't think I'm going to be able to handle the actual movie, though I feel I should see it. I don't know what to do.
