"Did you ever hear about my great great grandfather? He was a gladiator in Rome. Caesar hated him. He dug a hole in the coluseum and buried my great-great grandfather up to his neck. And Caesar got the meanest lion in all of Rome. Then he starved him to death and let him out at a big gathering. The Lion pounced and as he went to bite, my grandfather ducked and bit the lion's balls right off. Then he spit them at Julius Caesar. Caesar turned and said, "Fight fair Knievel. Fight fair." -Evel Knievel.
I'm with Matt. I think this one will be a little better than the second but won't be quite the cash cow. It'll still be the second biggest movie of the summer (I'm banking on Shrek 3 to outperform in the long run) but it won't top Dead Man's Chest.
I'm excited to see it, although I think it would have been better titled "Pirates of the Caribbean: How Geoffrey Rush saved the Franchise"

I'm excited to see it as well, although I probably won't be able to make it opening weekend. Seeing Barbosa walk down the stairs at the end of DMC was a great thrill.

Yeah. It was like one of those moments where the patient is dying on the table, has been in defib for half an hour, and you're about ready to accept that they're dead. And then, one last hit with the paddles produces a miraculous, unexpected heart beat, and you know that everything is going to be OK.

I think this movie is going to dominate the summer, both quality-wise and box office wise. I can't wait to finally see what happens after Dead Man's Chest (which I completely, unabashedly loved). I'm so glad that it's out soon, and that we don't have to wait forever for the third one.
For anyone interested, there are new behind the scenes clips & interviews that are starting to come out, and they're very exciting - I think the "Captain Jack Sparrow" one is my favorite, but they are all definitely worth watching.
It's certainly not hard to be better than Shrek 3.
Yeah, I enjoyed Pirates 3. It's not bad. It has some problems, and it's often overly confusing for no apparent reason. But it's better than Pirates 2, for one, very good reason, which I will talk about once I finish writing my review.
Can't wait to read it so I can fully prejudge the film based on your review.
Well, if you thought it was better than Dead Man's Chest that means I'll probably really like it since I enjoyed the 2nd a bit more than you. Yes, I use Josh Tyler as my bar when predicting the quality of films I have yet to see.
